I'd been thinking about this mod for a long time now. But from the first thought all the way up to the actual piercings my idea had changed. At first I was going to go for two vertical surface piercings; one either side of my belly button. But I realized that they would probably reject because of the placement and movement etc. Then one day after a lot of thinking about it, I had a new idea which would be more successful: two navel piercings pointing diagonally into my belly button. After thinking about it for weeks, I decided to finally get it done.

I waited for a couple of weeks until I had some cash saved up, and until my step sister finished school for the Easter holidays because she wanted to get a standard navel done. We both decided to go on the Saturday when we'd both have enough free time to go.

So, today came and I woke up feeling a bit sick, not enough like I felt I was going to jub up, but sicky none the less. I thought "Ah, fuck it" though; I'd already got myself 9 piercings [two of them gauged] so I knew what to expect. We set off and just to our luck the weather was absolutely crap. Raining, cold and windy. Good old Manchester, eh?

We got to In2Skin about 11:45 ish and I was surprised as there was only one other person there waiting to be pierced. It's usually packed in there, especially on Saturdays. Me and my step sister filled out our forms and I told the lad at the desk what I wanted. I decided on two curved barbells instead of the banana barbells because I really don't like them. No offence to anyone else who has them, but they're just not 'me'. We were then asked to sit down and wait for the piercer to pierce the other girl there.

My step sister was called in after about 10 minutes so I went in with her. She didn't half go on with herself when she was lying down on the chair but I guess as it was only her second piercing [besides her tongue] it was just nerves. She was all finished in a matter of minutes and the piercer cleaned everything up and asked me to stand in front of him so he could mark me up. It ended up so that the top holes are about an inch apart, and the bottom ones are about 6 or 7mm apart. He asked me to lie down so we could start.

I lay down on the chair and waited for him to get his equipment and stuff ready. He clamped up the first piercing-to-be which wasn't really painful, and then sprayed me with the numbing stuff that smells like toothpaste or something. And man, does that stuff work fast. He told me to take a deep breath in and exhale when he said to. I waited for a couple of seconds as he was checking something out. I asked him if he'd done it yet and he said yep. Didn't feel a thing, literally. I was expecting it to feel like a labret piercing or something. He inserted the barbell and then asked me to shift sideways a bit so he could sit on the chair with me to do the next one. He clamped the next one up but it felt like he was stabbing the forceps into my stomach because he was sat at a funny angle. It was probably the worst part actually, but he was soon asking me to inhale and exhale again. Again, I didn't feel a thing and he inserted the second barbell. He grabbed some tissue and told me to hold it on my navel for a couple of minutes. I guess I was bleeding pretty bad because I saw blood on his gloves.

I must've been lying there for about 10 minutes while he was autoclaving some stuff and changing a girl's barbell in her tragus. He then came back over to me and took off the tissue which was stuck to my stomach because of all the blood. Nice... I stood up to look in the mirror and was well pleased. It turned out much better than what I thought it would, except for all of the blood. I turned round and thanked my piercer and told him how chuffed I was with them. He wiped all the blood off with one of those small saline solution wipes and they started to bleed a bit more. I'm not actually sure why they bled that much seeing as I didn't have alcohol or pain killers the night before... Anyway, he stuck one of those patches on me and gave me an aftercare sheet and told me it would be £40. I tipped him a tenner on top of that because he did such an ace job, and because he's pierced me seven times altogether now. Him and the guy and the girl at the desk all said thanks and that if I ever need any help or anything then to ring or stop by.

It's been a few hours now since I got my piercings and after giving them a quick clean with Savlon spray, they're looking mighty sweet. I bet they'll look even better when all the of redness has gone as well. I can't say that these will be my last piercings, but they are for now and I'm proper pleased.
