I've always had a fascination with piercings but being a 15 year old and having fairly strict parents I have to keep a lot of my piercing in my head until I am 18. Well, it all started a week ago about I needed to get some Monroe jewels because I always seem to loose them. I was sitting in my room thinking about some piercings and the two that I thought of was my tragus and belly button, so I ask my mum and she was hesitant with my tragus. So we rock up to get some jewels and I ask about the prices 40 dollars and an extra 10 for jewelery. before my mum could say anything I said yes to getting them both done and made an appointment for the following Saturday at 1pm.

So during the week I decided to do my proper research and came across a double belly button, I read the stories and looked at the pictures and fell in love with it straight away. My mum is alright with it so she calls the studio up to change it the lady says how she doesn't know what piercing it is so just to bring pictures in when I come on the day. So the days go by and it comes to Saturday I wake up get some friends to come with me for support. We arrive there like 20 minutes early, they get me to fill out the form and for my mom to sign it, and I swear they didn't even watch us fill it out. We wait awhile and then, the piercer comes out asking if we were all getting pierced they just looked weirdly as I said that it was only me today and what I want done with a cheesy smile on my face I said double belly button and tragus.
This is where I get bummed out, she starts to explain how there is more than just the normal nose, labret, tongue, eyebrow, nipple e.c.t. Piercings and how there is more like genital, stretching and industrial. I turned off because I felt like a know it all n I thought I didn't need to hear it. I sat there thinking and decided on just a standard belly button.
The piercer (I never remember her name but she's the only one) goes in the back and sets up as I sit there wishing she did the bottom one. She comes back out as my mate tries to be the smart ass she is and starts talking about the bottom one. She gets me to choose a bar (that was the hardest moment of my life I wanted to get them all but my mate ends up choosing one that matched my beauty spot didn't know that till later that night), she explains how she could attempt to do the bottom but she doesn't have the qualifications and she could stuff up. I enter the small but clean and sterile white room she gets the box of belly button bars and finds the color I chose and decided on the gauge (14g I think because big is beautiful). She fits the jewel with this little fat measure type thing, marks the tips with a black marker, and then marked my stomach (I wasn't even able to stand up still for more than 3 seconds id have to keep moving). I am asked to lie down as she clamps me and tried to find any veins or something that took like about five minutes so, we end up talking about why I had an obsession with getting all these piercings and why my school doesn't care about them and just general stuff like that.
She finishes finding the veins or whatever and I don't even feel her getting the needle in line, it was a small pinch as the needle was going threw but there was no pain at all. The jewelery was put threw and she went over the cleaning instructions nothing i've heard before. She cleans everything up and prepares to do my tragus (but that's a different story). When that was done, I walked out paid my money and she asked if I wanted any alcoholic wipes I replied with a simple no I have a whole box at home. She smiled and I said thank you.
Well it's been almost a week since I got it done, it was fine for a few days but then it developed some tiny bubbles I tried popping them but it didn't work. I took it out which was not a good idea. It is slightly infected so I am now on antibiotics, but all of my piercings get infected for some weird reason. I'm cleaning it with alcoholic wipes twice a day and also putting tee tree oil once a day.
Overall, it is worth it. 50 dollars great piercer Quality job and quality jewelery and piercing equipment, So if your in the Sydney area BLISS at Marrickville is a great place and now im going to be making an appointment at polymorph at Newtown to get the bottom one pierced.
