Studio amanda's house!
I've had a piercing fetish forever... and some of you who can sympathize with this know that occasionally the urge to make yourself a bit more shiny is just completely irresistible... no matter how little money you may have on hand... That's when you start thinking of anything you just kind of, sort of want, that could you probably pull off yourself.

I really want to get my triangle done so very much... but no way in hell was I was doing that one on someone's couch. A tongue-web, I thought, might be nice, but it is an oral piercing... and there's veins and such in there, I don't know a lot about. I had done a few temporary play piercing done on my back... but I wasn't much in the mood for that again. Looking down, thinking about possible metal bits I could have, pondering, staring my belly button, flicking my single navel barbell there... it suddenly came to me! I need another one of those. Amanda, we can pierce my navel again!

I did my ears and my first navel piercing myself when I was much younger, about 13 or 14. Then I discovered a shop, cheaptrx in St. Louis, Missouri, which I love... where i got my nipples and clit hood done later... and I still highly recommend them for any piercing or tattoo or other body modification adventure you may want to undertake.

Well, back onto this 2nd navel piercing already... My best-est friend Amanda is an apprentice piercer, she's done lips and noses and navels and such... nothing too radical yet... but I'm still quite proud of her. She has her magic box of sharp things, and clamps, and lubes, and jewelry. Looking through all her fun stuff, I was like, "yeah, you could do it... and then I'll have a double navel thing going on." I talked about it enough, and she agreed to it.

So she puts her gloves on, and she's cleaning my belly button with this red surgical soap... creepy looking stuff, like you see on surgery shows on TV. Then, with a one-time-use marker, we placed a couple little purple marks exactly where I wanted it. All is looking well thus far. Then she got out the evil metal apparatus... Clamps suck, but what else is new, she rubber banded them, and I held them up. Just as she put some surgi-lube on the 14 gauge needle she had planned for me, I was like, "hey... let me do it." I'm a bit of a pansy, even though I've been poked with them quite a few times already, I'm nervous every time. But I figured hey, if i inflict this needle on myself at least I'll know just when to expect it... it won't be such a shock.

I lined it up on the entrance mark, holding it kind of like a syringe, and started to push it through... it went very slow... but I wasn't trying to do it fast or anything... slow and steady, making sure it's straight. Getting it to go through the last bit of skin was the hardest part, but with a little more pressure, the tapered end made it through.

I had Amanda put the jewelry in afterwards, and I just laid there... kind of just enjoyed the moment. (if you sympathize with the above piercing fetish statement, you know about the moment. haha.)

And suddenly, over the next few days, I was reminded of my fresh navel piercing from long ago... banging it on things when ever I walked around, no jumping full-flop onto the bed for a while, and it rubbing against my pants sometimes when I sit down, you have to give those 'careful' hugs so you don't hurt it. All those things and little crusties, which I still have to soak and pick off at least once, if not twice a day. It is about two and a half weeks old now and I think I'm keeping it with me forever. :) The only thing I still notice about it is some redness and crusties.

As for my outlook on do-it-yourself piercing... before attempting anything yourself, always imagine the worst-case scenario. Example: Could I deal with big round pink scars on my navel? If i started massively bleeding, could I deal with it? If the answer is yes, I see no problem in someone taking risks with their own body. The only piercings that I've done myself, are ears, navels, and very surface play piercings, and I wouldn't do anything without knowing about the area I'm working in a little... like how deep should this thing go? is there a lot of blood flow to the area? etc... inform yourself, be safe, enjoy it.

If anyone wants to talk about my little adventure/s, you can email or aim... eloquentennui@aol.com.
