I've always had a thing for piercings since I was little. I thought they were the coolest things and I wanted as many as I could get. Since the age of 14, I've gotten quite a few piercings, my belly button and my tongue pierced 3 times (now I only have 1 tongue piercing), and my ears basically covered and gauged, and then tattoos.

I was looking at BME about 4 months ago, since they have everything you need to know about piercings and tattoos, to see what new and cool piercing I could get that wasn't very obvious and I could hide it I needed too.
I soon found an inverse navel piercing and I wanted it right then and there. I was so excited, it was so cute and didn't look that painful. The only problem was that I did not have any money for it at the time because I had quite a few bills to pay, and I had to save a lot of money because I was going on vacation to Florida for a week and I spend money like crazy! So I waited for what seemed like forever.
Soon the time came and it was time to leave for Florida with my boyfriend. When we were down there, I saw so many people with their belly button's pierced the way I wanted and right then I knew I had to have it when was down there.
Since I don't live in Florida, I had no clue if they had a tattoo shop, or a place that was close enough that I didn't have to travel far away because I wanted to relax, not travel more when I was on vacation.
So, on the third day I was there, I looked through the phone book and checked out where there was a local tattoo shop and finally found one about 10 minutes away. I was really happy that it was close to where I was staying. The shop was called Body Branding Tattoo Emporium of Naples, FL. I heard that it was one of the popular shops in Florida, so I knew it was good.
The next day, I went down to the shop with my boyfriend. The first time I went, they were closed. I was devastated! I wanted it very bad and I got shot down. So, the following day my boyfriend and I went down to the shop again and they were open. I was so happy.
I finally went inside, and it was so nice and clean in there, plus the environment was very calm, so it put me at ease, and my boyfriend too since he doesn't like watching the actual piercing's happen, but yet he's covered in tattoos.
I walked up to the counter and I talked to the piercer, Mary, about the piercing and she told me about everything and soon we were on to picking out the jewelry for the procedure. I picked out a cute 14 gauge curved barbell that had really shiny crystals on each end.
I waited about 5 minutes while she set up the room with all the materials she needed to pierce my little belly button and then she called me in. First she marked the spot on my belly and asked me to check if it was good. I told her it was.
So I laid back on the dentist like chair and watched her take the barbell out of the sterilized package and I saw the clamps and then she showed me that the needle was brand new cause she took it out of the package right in front of me, my boyfriend and the apprentice (I think) I didn't care actually who she was and if she could watch, I was just really excited to get it.
So the time had come to get the barbell in.
She told me to breathe in and out and on the third breath she would pierced. 1..2..3.. WOW! It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. Yeah it pinched a bit, but it wasn't bad at all. It bled a little bit, so I put a Band-Aid over it cause I was wearing a white shirt.
After she was done with the piercing, she took me into the front of the studio and gave me a paper on how to take care of the piercing and gave me sea salt so I can soak it. She also gave me her number just incase I had any problems or questions and I was all set.
Afterwards, since it didn't hurt one bit, I went swimming in my grandfathers pool. I was surprised nothing happened. And a day later I went swimming at the beach. But after I went swimming I was very careful to clean the piercing very well so nothing would get it infected and make sure there wasn't any extra sand around the area so it wouldn't get irritated.
Its about 3 months later, and the piercing has healed perfectly without any infection. I'm so glad I got the piercing, It makes my belly button look complete in its own way.
