My first piercing...
At A Glance Author Bad_blonde82 When Two years ago Artist animal Studio Touch of Paris Location Glen Burnie Maryland Well like most other people I was the unlucky one that had to wait till I was actually legal to get my first piercing. I had always wanted my navel pierced ever since I saw a girl with it when I was about 16. Of course I tried to get it when I was 16 but the parental didn't go for that one. So I had no choice but to wait 2 long years. Over those two years I had grown more interested in piercing and tattoos. This made me want my piercing even more and more. Finally a week before my 18 birthday, my best friend and I decided that we were going to get our navels pierced! We planned and planned it all out that week. Finally on Wednesday, middle of the week it was finally my birthday!!!!! I was so excited.
I chose to go to A Touch of Paris in Glen Burnie, Maryland because all of my friends had gone there and had absolute great results and loved it! It helps to know people who have already gotten it done from the place that way you know what to expect and you can actually see the results. It eased my mind a little bit better knowing that the people there were very nice and none of my friends got infections or anything. The whole day at school I was nervous as hell but was getting more and more excited as the day went on! I had to wait for my best friend to get out of class before we could head to the place. I did not tell my mom what I was doing because I knew if I did she would most likely try and find a way to stop me. So I thought it was best to just tell her I was going out with friends for my birthday! I hated to lie to her but I had waited 2 long years! It was time for me to get pierced! The car ride there seemed like the longest ever. I was so nervous the whole way there. It was only a 15 to 20 minute drive from my house to there. Finally we got there and they were still closed. They did not open till late that day so of course I was getting more nervous because I thought I was going to have to come back another day! We then decided to go get something to eat until they were open, but luckily as we were getting in the car one of the people that work there was pulling in and told us all to come on in! Once I got back out of the car I said to my self this is it, there's no turning back now!!
Once we got inside it was a very small place but I was very welcoming. They had a couch in the corner and pictures of tattoos on the walls. We waited for the guy to get everything ready and find the paper work. Before I filled out any paper work he asked for my id and was like "oh wow...it's your birthday!" which was kind of funny the way he said it but you had to be there! So I filled out all my paperwork signed it and gave it back to him. I thought I was going to have a choice of jewelry but they were running low on the size that I needed so I did not have much of a color choice! My friends helped me pick my jewelry out. We picked out a barbell with a multi-color stone in it. It was very pretty and it wasn't exactly what I wanted but I dealt with it. He showed me where I was going and he went over how they clean and sanitize everything that they use on you which eased my mind to know that they were very clean and careful with what they did. He took me and my best friend back to this little room which had more pictures of tattoos and piercing and an orange dentist looking chair! We all were talking and joking around which now I know why they do it, he was doing it to take my mind off of things. He leaned the chair back and made me roll down my jeans and marked my navel and then had me stand up and inspect it to make sure that I thought it looked right! Which it did and I was comfortable with it. After that he had me lie back in the chair once and again and gave me a teddy bear to hold on to! The funniest thing was that the teddy bear had its ears and everything pierced it was the coolest teddy bear I have ever seen! After getting comfortable and having him explain everything he was going to do step by step he picked up the clamps and placed them on my navel. Which kind of hurt a smidge but it was bearable. He then told me on the count of 3 to take a deep breath in and then let it out. He counted to 3 I took a deep breath in felt a tiny pinch that lasted all of about a millisecond and by the time I was done with t "\Ãw8ïÌ hat breath the needle was through. Easy and pretty much painless. The hardest thing of all was him trying to put the little ball on the top of the barbell. Once I was pierced he gave me some soda, they do this with everyone and told me to just sit back and relax that way I don't get up too quickly and pass out, because it is possible with having your nerves all worked up!
In the end I was happy and very pleased. The car ride home was interesting because I was afraid that every bump we would hit was going to hurt. But it didn't! Once home I showed my mom and she wasn't pleased but by the next morning she liked it and was cool with it so I was happy! But if I was to get another piercing I would defiantly go back to them! So all in all my first piercing experience was nerve racking but so much FUN! I hope everyone else's is as painless as mine was!
