I've had a few piercing experiences In the past few years, I got my first navel piercing at 14, my nose pierced at 15 and I (stupidly) let my friend pierce my ears for the third time (boring I know)

Well I recently moved to Spain and for my 17th birthday I decided I wanted 2 more navel piercings and a heartagram tattoo (which I had done but this is the piercing story :p)

So my mum and dad agreed to let me have this done as long as they didn't have to come with me!

So on Friday the 15th of July I set off to Mojacar in Spain to get my piercings and tattoo done.

I chose to have these mods done at Mosquito Piercings & Tattoos up in the old Moorish pueblo as I heard it had a good reputation.

I got the price quote, and it was a shock, the custom tattoo alone was 60 euros! And I was later to find out 2 navel piercings would set me back a shocking 80 euros...having had my first navel piercing done for £21 I was not impressed so I had a little think about it, (especially seeing as i wanted it pierced with a bar but she wouldn't do it!), I didn't have enough money for all of this to be done as I'm not an organised person, so the piercer and I decided I should just go for one more navel piercing instead and I could always getanother one (or more hehe) later, it seemed like a plan so I agreed after a few minuted thought.

She rang my tattooist first to make sure he could come and do my tattooo before he went home, luckily he could! (i was the last one to be tattooed that day)

I had my tattoo done first which took roughly 20 minutes and didn't hurt at all, actually i quite enjoyed it and it looked fantastic when it was finished!, then came the lower navel piercing after i went to have a quick glass of coke in the bar a few doors down of course! , I knew what to expect as I watched her set up, clamps, needle in, needle out, jewellery in, so I wasn't really nervous, although she did warn me because the skin was thicker on lower navel piercings it tend to hurt slightly more as it took longer to pierce.. I could deal with this so it wasn't a major problem.

So she marked me up making sure the piercing would be inline with my upper navel (which she informed me was slightly more to the left than where it should be, the centre and it had also migrated slightly) but anyway she marked it up well and perfectly inline with my top bar, then she made me lie on the dentist type chair (which was slightly uncomfortable because of the tattoo), clamped me up , and as quick as she could eased the needle through, now it didn't hurt, true I felt it more than the upper navel like she told me I would, because the needle had more skin to pierce it took slightly longer, but it was no problem, just a slight wince and it was through, then the titanium ti glow coloured bcr ring that matched the colour of my top bar was put in (it took a while because the clip in ball was being fiddly!) , I was told to stand up slowly and I was done!

She made me check in the mirror whether I liked it, I told her I loved it (it really complimented my top bar which had a small electric guitar on it)

She then gave me my piercing (and tattoo) aftercare instructions and I was on my way.

If anyone is in the Mojacar area in Spain and is thinking of getting a piercing or tattoo, I Highly recommend this place, my tattooist was friendly and reassuring, and made sure I watched him get a new needle and tools, my piercer was very knowledgeable, and again, made me watch her open a new needle from the sterilised packet and the same with her tools and the bcr (which all studios should let you see) and gave me some good aftercare advice, she was also really chatty and friendly throughout the procedure, so all in all , not a bad word to say about them, apart from being a tad bit over priced the service was very good and hygienic, so I guess you get what you pay for!

A few days on both my tattoo and new piercing are doing really well, I'm still thinking of maybe getting another navel addition like originally planned but I love it how it is for now!

So for anyone thinking of a multi navel project, go for it!

And if your in the mojacar area , again I strongly recommend Mosquito (as long as your prepared to break the bank abit! )
