I always thought bellybutton piercing is cute, I found them very feminine and sexy. About a year ago I weighed 250 lbs (I was really fat). I got really disgusted with myself and decided to change. I cut back on food and became active (when the hot florida heat let up a little in the evening). I now weigh 162 lbs and look a lot better. My mom suggested 5 months ago that this summer we should both bet out navels done together. I was very excited, we sort of forgot about for a while it because if i mention something too much she will not go through with it. My mom said "so, are you ready to get your belly empaled?" I said of course I am.

My mom said I should look around for a good studio, I found a couple that I liked. But when the day came we basically just drove around and found one. That day my mom took care of some stuff and we found one that was so new they did not have the piercing license yet, at another place the piercer had the day off. Electric eye was a very nice place, and the tattoo guy said the piercer would be there in 15 minutes.

Amanda walked in and we introduced ourselves. She gave us a form to sign and one to get notarized. We had to leave the studio and go to the pawn shop a few stores down and get it notarized; the guy said he usually charges for that but for electric eye it's free. We went back to the studio and turned the forms in. We waited for about 20 minutes while she got everything ready. I was looking at a tattoo magazine.

Amanda was very nice; I liked having a girl piercer. She told me to pick a belly ring I picked one with a small white diamond rhinestone thing on top and a big one on the bottom (sparkles a lot). She took me in the back and told me to lie down on a massage bench thing. She took a couple tools out of sterile packages (the belly ring was in a sterile package too), and laid them down on a paper towel looking thing. She cleaned my bellybutton and marked it with a blue pen and told me to look at it. Then she went to wash her hands and came back, she cleaned my bellybutton again and took the clamp.

She told me she is just clamping it. It did not hurt, then she asked me if I was ready. I said yes and all I felt was pressure and a little bit of pain. She took the clamp off and told me to hold still because the needle was still in my belly. I lifted my head a little to look at it and it looked like a sewing accident. She took the ring and attached it to the needle and pulled both through at once. That part just felt weird. She twisted the ball on and it was done.

She told me to wash it twice a day with dial soap and not to touch it without washing my hands first. I asked her if it is ok to take full showers and if it will hurt if i get water on it and stuff like that. it is really easy to clean just wet it in the shower and lather up your hands and rub the lather on the belly ring and move it up and down to get the soap in there. Then you have to rinse it really good and keep moving it while you are rinsing. Amanda told me not to dry it with a towel but to do it with a paper towel and q-tips (so its really dry).

It has not hurt at all; I have no visible discharge and minimal swelling. It's just a little red. I got it done about 2 weeks ago. I can move, ride my horse, and do everything. The only thing i do not really want to do is jump on my horse bareback because you land right on your stomach, I either swing on sideways or have mt boyfriend boost me. I liked how amanda took everything out of sterile packages. i think sterile tools are very important. I think belly piercing is a good idea and they are super cute, if you are thinking about it go for it. I love my belly piercing and so does my boyfirend.

**** Oh my goodness I was typing this whole thing and totally forgot about my mom. Well anyways she thought it would hurt and take too long to heal so she chickened out. But after seeing how easy I have it with mine she is thinking about going to electric eye and doing it. haha ~whimp~
