Multi navel piercings are hot! It's something about all of that metal on a woman's belly that gets the excitement flowing. The more there are, the better. Not to mention, they are a great alternative to the standard navel piercing. I knew one thing was for sure, my navel craved a multi navel piercing of its own. I was going to feed that craving.

Which multi navel piercing did I want? That was the question that entered my brain over and over as I stared at the pictures on BME. There was one piercing that really caught my eye, the quadruple navel piercing. It looked interesting and would cover up the big ass scar that ran through my navel (surgeries don't always leave pretty marks behind). So, the quadruple navel piercing it was.

There's a kick ass body piercer in the Richmond, VA area named Jessika Simmons. She has killer experience (13 years to be exact) and even owns her own shop! Needless to say, this woman is very impressive. I was long overdue a piercing by Jessika. Now was the time. My boyfriend would accompany me to the shop.

The feel of a needle had left my memory for quite some time. It had been a year since I had been pierced and I was trying desperately to remember what it felt like. The reoccurring thought left my mind as I entered River City Tattoo Shop. Instead, excitement began to shift all through out my body.

This shop was extraordinary! I loved the well lit, cozy atmosphere presented before me as I walked through the front door. Various merchandise covered the counter tops and hung from racks in the middle of the floor. Some of the merchandise included River City Tattoo Shop t-shirts, bags, etc. The bags were very cute! Occupying the room as well were two old school arcade games, one bubblegum machine (which my boyfriend was instantly drawn to) and a coke machine. A book of henna art (another service they offer), portfolios and magazines/comic books were spread out on the table.

"Sparky" (My boyfriend and I prefer to call him "magicstick") greeted us as soon as we approached the counter. He was very knowledgeable, polite and eager to help in any way possible. It was refreshing to see a guy with such superior customer service skills working the front counter. With the necessary paper filled out, it was now time to make my jewelry selection.

River City is filled to the brim with a wide range of gorgeous body jewelry. Their massive collection contains beautiful, unique pieces that you won't find anywhere else. The endless possibilities were overwhelming. I must of looked lost because Sparky offered to assist me. He recommended that I stick with the basic barbells. They'd look best with this type of piercing.

Jessika was such a sweetheart! She was very kind and took the time to explain the procedure in great detail. Afterwards, she answered any questions/concerns that I might have. The needles, jewelry, etc. had been layed out on the tray and ready for use. It was now that time and Jessika began to put on her gloves. Afterwards, she pulled out a marker and began to make marks around my navel. These marks indicate where the needle will enter and exit the skin. I examined the marks on my belly carefully and climbed up onto the table. At this point, my boyfriend pulled out the camera and began flashing away. I was concerned about the flashes going off in her face while she was poking needles in me. However, she was cool with it. Jessika clamped the skin and pushed the needle through each area. The barbells were put in after each piercing.

The pain was equivalent to the standard navel piercing. So, it's not bad at all. Caring for this piercing was pretty easy as well. The main thing to remember is to clean the piercing 2-3 times a day and to keep an eye on it. Luckily, River City carries their own body piercing soap. This meant no extra stops on the way home. My navel was now beautiful and it was time to leave. To this day it looks great.

Jessika's outstanding work has earned her the reputation as one of Richmond's best piercers. She's knowledgeable, experienced and professional at all times. One more thing, Jessika has a heart of gold. She cares deeply for other people. Which means a lot in this world.
