I recently became interested in body piercings at the start of last year and it all began when I first got my lip pierced,of course I didn't tell my dad I was getting it done at the time so I felt a bit rebellious. From then on I thought piercings were amazing and was desperate to get more but I was willing to wait a good few months or so before I rushed into getting another as I knew I would appreciate one piercing at a time more.

Well 4 months on I decide its time for a new piercing for I now have plenty of money to spend and a new piercing was what I was wanting to spend it on. I have two choices I could get my nose done or my navel, the navel seemed more appealing to me at the time and so that was my decision all I had to do now was wait for tomorrow to arrive.

When morning came butterflies and a sense of excitement also filled me for today was the day I would make my navel into something beautiful. I got up got dressed made myself some toast to eat and soon was on my way on a bus into town. Like before with my lip piercing I decided to go alone as I felt more comfortable and confident.

Walking towards the piercing studio the nerves had gathered but there was no way I was backing out now. I wanted this done badly and i reassured myself it couldn't be that bad for i had already lip done in the same studio. I walked up to the counter an made an appointment for two o'clock which was only half an hour away and so to kill time and nerves I went and walked about the shops and bought myself a packet of crisps to eat to ensure I would not be going in on an empty stomach. The time soon then flew and before I knew it I was once again walking down the shopping mall towards Otherside studio.

I went down and filled in a form to the guy behind the counter and showed him my I.D and payed him(£35)then picked out my jewellery. It was a cute little barbell with a white diamond in the middle. I waited 10 mins before I was called into the room and Stuart my piercer guy was extremely friendly whilst covered in piercings himself. He told me he recognised me from when I had got my labret done by him and so that made me feel instantly more relaxed.

He told me to lift up my top and he cleaned the area,He said I had a very rare belly button shape from were my ambilicol cord was tied meaning that if I was to get the bottom of my navel done as well it would be perfectly lined with the top piercing and only 1 out of every 100 people had this done so I was well chuffed. I remember telling him about my friend who had got her navel done in a different studio and how it had got messed up, this helped distract me and I only felt the needle going through me for about 3 seconds then just a bit of pressure as the jellewery was put on and before I knew it, it was done and all and I was incredibly pleased with the results when I looked in the mirror. He then gave me an aftercare sheet and told me what cleaning solution to buy and so I thanked him and left.

It was only 15 minutes later when I went outside that problems started to arise when I started to feel extremely faint and sick and I had turned paper white. With what little strength I had left I walked up the street and was forced to sit down before I collapsed, the world was spinning and a minute later I was vomiting. People passing by stopped to ask if I was ok I told them I was fine just feeling slightly sick so as not to make a fuss even though I really felt like I was gonna drop dead there and then. I sat down on the ground for a good 30 mins to get my breath back and strength. Once the sickness had eased a little I got up and made it to my bus stop and soon was on my bus home and gradually the faint feeling left me.

I have no idea why my body reacted like that though I think it might have been because the day was so warm at the time. Its now my second day of having this piercing and I have encountered no problems with it so far. I am considering getting the bottom of my navel done but not for another good few months as I want to enjoy this piercing for a while and make sure I am ready if I should encounter another near fainting experince.

For anyone who wants to get their navel done I say go for it looks and feels great and you will soon love it. but of course do not attempt to do it yourself always have a trusted professional do it to ensure your piercing turns out the best and that way you'll have no regrets.
