The thought of me getting my belly button pierced did not come into my head until about two years ago when I saw this girl at the beach that had hers done. The second I saw it I had always dreamed of getting mine pierced. It wasn't until about two months later that I really thought about actually getting mine pierced. Me being the smart person that I am (Joking. Not smart at all) decided not to talk to my parents about doing I thought that it was going to be a automatic no. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I went and got a barbell and a big safety pin and did some research on how to pierce it. Then I went into my bathroom and pierced my belly button. I got everything put in and looked pretty good but then I realized that I had a really big track race the next day so I took it out because I was not sure weather it would get in the way during the race or not. Well once track ended I thought about doing it again. I thought to myself well the first time was good i was just afraid of keeping it in so I convinced myself to re-pierce my own belly button. The second time did as good as the first time, however a week after I did it I thought that maybe it was infected so again I got scared and took it out.
At A Glance Author anonymous When A week ago Studio Big City Tattoo Location Florida One whole year went by since I had pierced my belly button by my self and I was 18! I talked to a few people and they said that it was ok to get it pierced even though I had already done it two times before. Although they said that it took about a whole year for all of the scare tissue and skin to heal from the first and second time that I pierced it. Once I had planned everything out I made an appointment to get my belly button professionally pierced.
I got to the piercing place 15 minutes ahead of time. I did not go into the place but instead sat in my car listening to music thinking about what I was about to do. When the time came I went into the piercing studio. I told them that had a piercing appointment and immediately the guy was like yes let me get the piercer. So the piercer came out and I told him what I wanted to get he said ok and went and set the room up. I signed a few papers that said it was ok for them to do this. The guy asked me whether I wanted a barbell or hoop. I told him barbell so it would not be able to bump something easier. He said ok come on back to the room. The piercer told me to roll my shirt up and then stand straight up and relax. He then took a marking pen and marked where the entry and exit holes were and then told me to lay down looking straight at the ceiling. The guy then put a clamp on where the dots were (this was the part that hurt the most) once the clamp was finally lined (he missed the holes a couple times so he had to re-clamp my belly button) up the piercer then said ok on three I am going to tell you to take a deep breath then exhale slowly I told him ok. Before I knew it the needle was threw and when I looked down I had a silver barbell in it was amazing. I was told to set up slowly and then stand up. The man then told me ok look in the mirror I did and it looked great. He took me back into the front and I paid and said good-bye and I was off. I was in the piercing studio for a total of maybe twenty minutes I was amazed at how fast the process took and how well the results were.
For the cleaning process they gave me a bottle of salt water spray solution that I spray on it every three hour to prevent infection, and once a day I set with a cup of warm salt water on the piercing to clean the piercing even better.
So far the piercing is healing great with no problems yet!
In the end I got my belly button pierced and everything is fine, but it could not be fine if I had messed it up when I pierced it myself. If you are thinking about getting your belly button pierced I would defiantly recommend it but pay a few dollars and get it done professional that way you know everything is good and it is more comfortable that way too.
