I had always wanted my navel pierced ever since I first saw one done. I never really thought that I would actually get one. I just thought it would be one of those things that I would just wish for but never would really get.

After we got to the hotel, checked in and unpacked, we decided to go to the mall to hang out. Oh just so you know it wasn't even in my mind that I would get this done, but little did I know.
Well we finally got to the mall and saw this cool little stand in the middle where she had all of these different incense holders and belly button rings. On the case where they were there was and advertisement for Outer Loop where they had a studio where you could get various piercings done RIGHT IN THE MALL! Well that got me thinking. So we talked to the lady for a little bit then left. My mom kept asking me if I wanted it done. She said she would pay for half as a birthday present. Well I was kind of unsure about if I would get it done or not. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted it done.
Then I was thinking about the pain factor. Would it hurt badly? Could I handle the pain? Can I see myself wearing this for a while?
Now I couldn't think about anything else but getting that done. So we finally decided to go and find the place.
When we did and walked in it was nothing like I expected. There was a shop in the front and in the back there was a hallway where you would get pierced. It was really weird. It was really busy in there so I was looking at all of the rings while the line slowly went down.
When it did I got really nervous. Even though this isn't a major thing to get done, it was still my first body modification and I was scared.
I went up to the counter with my mom at my side and asked lots of questions to the lady there. As she gave my the paper work to fill out she was telling me about her experience getting it done and how awesome the guy is who works there. That made me feel really good. So after that she said to wait a few while he sets everything up and when he was done he would call. I would tell you his name but I forgot. I think it was Troy but I am not for sure. Anyways while I was waiting I really got nervous again. About five minutes later he called me in.
I asked if my mom could go in there with me for moral support, but I really wanted her in there to make sure he was doing everything right.
So I go in a room where he has everything laid out on the counter. Everything was individually packaged and looked really clean. He put on some disposable gloves and then went to work.
I was laying down in the dentist style chair when he asked me to stand up so that he could mark me. He said that body positions usually change when sitting up to down and he wanted to make sure it was straight.
After that I laid back down and everything went underway. I wasn't watching what he was doing because I figured it would make me more scared.
I could hear him rummaging around and then he came in with the clamps. This hurt the worst because my stomach was really tight and He couldn't get the dot in the center so he pulled and pulled. OUCH!
After that was all done here came the needle. The only thing I felt was a rush of pain going out of my body. It didn't hurt at all.
He told me it was done which made me really excited. I barely even felt it. So after that he put a cork at the end so that it would scratch me and then he got the ring.
He told me how to take care of it, what not to do for a while, blah blah blah stuff.
After that I was floating on cloud nine. I really don't remember the rest of what happened. I was so happy that I finally got it done!
It only bleed a little afterwards. And every time I we would take five steps I would stop and stare. It is soooo cute!
Now a year and a half later it is still awesome! If you are reading this and contemplating whether you should get it or not, do it! It doesn't hurt at all and it is so cool once you get it done. I hope this helped!
