Well, for the longest time I wanted my belly button done. I wanted it because I thought that it was so gorgeous and I wanted some way to show how I feel. I always thought they were incredibly sexy and I knew that it would make me happy. So, for about 2 years I would beg my mother and all she would tell me was,"it'll get infected" or "your to young"

I've never had anything pierced before but my ears, and that was with a gun so the thought of the needle scared me quite a bit plus IM very sensitive! Although I had to promise that I would never get anything else pierced again. (silly me ). I could not believe it! My mother ... going to let someone stick a needle through my stomach. She was really nervous up until about 2 weeks after the piercing, she's just not into the whole body mod scene, but that was going to stop me! (she thinks its cute now though)! SO she took me to body rev in downtown Cleveland, the neighborhood was a little run down but the shop seemed clean and the woman who pierced me was awesome and kept me relaxed. No one was their so my mom filled out my paper work and I picked a curved barbell with a light blue stone. At this point my heart is pounding, I did my fair share of research on BME and some said it hurt others said it didn't so I wasn 't sure what to expect. So the piercer took me to a back room about the size of a closet with a sink and a counter where laid my needle in its package and a green doctor type chair. SO i stood and she marked my stomach with a purple pen after she cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, it looked kind funny, but I figured she knew what she was doing. (which she did) Then I laid down on the bed and kept asking if it was gonna hurt and I was told it would hurt less then a shot or a bee sting. I felt the clamp slide onto my stomach, which most people said it hurt, to me it just felt like, well something was on my tummy, no big pain. Now I'm really nervous, so I grabbed my moms hand and stared up at the ceiling just waiting for it to be over. Then I just felt some pressure and burning from my tummy. I stopped squeezing my moms hand, so I guess she thought it was over, but she looked down, gasped and looked back at me and whispered, "you have a needle in your stomach!" All I could think was awesome, I'm feeling this incredible rush, I'm so brave! Then she slipped on my barbell and tightened the top ball and told me she was all done. Wow. Just wow. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would!
I bought the cleaning kit which came with Provon soap, sea salt, and a cleaning solution. I was told to soak my button in 1/4 tsp. of salt mixed with one cup of water every other day and to wash it with Provon 2X a day. For the first two weeks it was kindda sore, nothing unbearable though. for example to tie my shoes hurt like hell, and cleaning was sore, but a little less then two weeks your good. About 2 months into it I was told I was allowed to change my barbell, I had a silver fairy in for a while, I love my belly button ring so much, I think its incredibly sexy and now it gives me a reason to show off my stomach. If anyone's scared to get it, don't be, its seriously no big deal and you'll fall in love with it. I must say they are addicting want other things pierced now.. ;-) I want my tragus pierced my ears double and triple pierced and a baby diamond stud on my nose! The chick that pierced me was really nice, I just feel bad I gave her a cheap tip, and never caug ht her name, but she was great. A few of my friends went their too and didn't have any problems. I feel like such retard though for thinking it would hurt so much and it didnt!If I could go back in time and redo it I wouldn't be so freaked out. But if you get this piercing, make sure you do it for the right reasons, body mods are beautiful, it really helps you express yourself, my belly button is gorgeous! and if you have any questions please email me, I'll gladly answer you! I highly recommend body rev, I haven't had any infections! All I recommend is, make sure you follow your cleaning directions and you shouldn't have any problems!
