Well, it all started Saturday. My sister, Sabrina, and I were riding around in the car. My sister asked where did we want to go and I suggested to go to a tattoo shop. She kept asking me what I was going to get done and finally I said my navel. She looked at her friend and asked her if she should let me get it done. Being the cool person that Sabrina was she said yes and so my sister drove to the tattoo shop.

We spent about 15 minutes outside because we were discussing the pain of piercings. So, I worked up some courage and went inside. A man approached my sister and asked what she needed and she told him a piercing for me. He started asking me questions like my age, have I ever had a tattoo or a piercing before, you know the usual stuff. He showed us his tattoos and piercings and things. We asked him if any of his piercings hurt and he said no. He had two tongue rings which was really freaky to me. But, hey thats him not me, ha! Then this other guy asked me the same thing that the other guy had just asked me. I told him everything that I had told the guy before him. For some reason he didn't believe that I was 16. So, I started to ask him questions about navel piercings and stuff. He kept telling me that it didn't hurt at all. My sister asked him about tongue rings and if they hurt. She was thinking about getting one. He told her no over and over again. He kept teasing us saying that we were scared of pain. Calling us babies, punks, chickens, and everything that came to mind. Then he told me to go in the back where all the equipment was so I could get this over with. Then I started to get scared. Because I was thinking about the last time I came there. My two sisters were getting tattoos and they were in pain. But, anyway I'm getting off the the subject,ha!
After my sister signed the papers and stuff he told me to sit in the chair. Then he made the chair lean back. I constantly asked him over and over if it hurts. He constantly told me no. I tried to believe him, but I was too scared. He sprayed something on my stomach and wiped it off. Then he put some ointment on my stomach. Then he took a needle and put some A+D ointment on it. He put the needle on my stomach and I put my head up. He then told me to stop tensing up and to keep my head back or the needle was going to go into my stomach. I tried my best to stay calm. Sabrina was holding my hand tight. I felt the clamp on my navel and I told him that it hurt. I thought that was the needle, but it wasn't. He kept telling me to lay back and don't tense up. I kept jumping and he kept stopping telling me to calm down because if the needle went in my stomach he wasn't gonna' call an ambulance,ha! I couldn't do anything else but look at the ceiling and pretend that nothing was going to happen. About 5 seconds later I heard the guy say ok your done. I was like what? Thats it? It really didn't hurt at all. I didn't feel a thing. He started telling me how to take care of it. Wash it once a day and put A+D ointment on it twice a day. He also told me to constantly move it around so that it won't heal in one place. The guy that did my piercing was real cool and nice....and he was funny as hell. Sabrina asked me if it hurt I told her no. Now she's thinking about getting one. After my navel piercing Sabrina and I convinced my sister to get a tongue ring. Sabrina kept telling her that it didn't hurt (she has a tongue ring). She thought it over for like 5 minutes then she finally decided to go through with it. She was cool and all until about 30 minutes later. We went out to eat and she was in so much pain. It was funny to me. It's been a week and her tongue still hurts. Thats why I got a navel ring because unlike tongue rings you won't be in pain. Now I'm thinki ng about a tongue ring and maybe a tattoo. Hopefully they won't be too painful as I'm thinking they will be. If I do decide to get those two things I will tell you all about the experience.
