Before I tell you about my experience let me fill you in about myself. My name is Kate I'm 12 years old and in grade 7and I have 2 piercings in each ear on the lobe and one on my helix on my left ear. And a recently pierced navel. Which all look awesome.

I have always loved the look of a pierced navel, but never thought of asking my prude parents to let me get mine pierced especially since they were reluctant to let me get my helix pierced. But last month I went with two of my friends when they got their lips pierced which made me want it even more. I decided I would ask but first come up with a good plan to convince them to let me get it done. Which I did.

My plan was to start of with asking them to let me get a lip piercing, start with something bigger and then work down to something small... well smaller. So I started and immediately they refused... ha my plan was working. Within a few days I sat down with my dad and told him I respected his decision but still wanted to get a pierced and if he would consider letting me get my navel pierced surprisingly he agreed and I was overjoyed. The next hurtle was to convince my mom which was pretty hard but I wouldn't give up. I knew she would give in she has with every other piercing. But within two weeks she agreed. I thought it would be at least a month before I was actually pierced. But I was wrong.

On the Thursday before Good Friday my mom took me out to what I thought was errands. We ended up going to a tattoo parlor, a really cool tattoo parlor. I was really nervous which was enough to endure but my mom found out she didn't have enough money on her so we had to go to a bank. I was seriously considering backing out as I sat alone in the car. But I didn't we went back to Pinksis and I was told to sit in a green chair that resembled a dentist chair.

Now for the actual piercing part. My piercer cleaned my navel and ran me through the procedure. She got out the clamps and laughed as my mom told her joke. She told me what all tools were for and clamped my navel. I shut my eyes and squeezed my mom's hand. I never even saw the needle. The piercer told me to take three deep breathes and I did. She pushed the needle through there was a pinch that hurt a little but not unbearable or anything. She went and got the BCR to put in which makes it easier to clean. I suggest you get a BCR when you get yours pierced *.- She said she would be right back and she went to wash her hands. She hadn't put the bead on yet so when she got back she put it on.

I clean it a lot and it isn't infected yet. It didn't really hurt it was just a little shocking. It doesn't hurt now unless I knock it around. But I have to adjust my pants whenever I sit down or anything which annoys me. It was worth it for sure... I'm in love ^.^ . I play with it all day long. I suggest you use polysporin as a disinfectant.

Now I'm on to planning to convince my parents to let me get my tongue pierced. After that I what my tragus pierced. I'm a little obsessive with the piercing thing every time I get one I want another. If you want your navel pierced go for it! It's totally worth it. I think part of the fun of getting piercing is the pain... I love the pain. *.- It's best not to think about how much it will hurt but if you do anyways think it will be really painful so when you do get it done it seems almost painless... But that all has to do with if you think you'll back out. According to my best friend it is more painful than your lip but less painful than your tongue... so if you have either of those you'll know what to expect.

Over-all my experience was good except I was very nervous, so nervous I was shaking afterwards. I'm just worried about it getting infected. It is really gross right now and crusty and it has this weird discharge but apparently that's normal but still pretty gross. Anyways I think this is one of the best piercing to get and oh so pretty!

TTFN Kate xoxo

P.S. Did you know ancient Egyptians used to pierce their navels as a sign of royalty? ^.^
