I am a Sri Lankan girl who has just started getting my self pierced. In Sri Lanka piercing is not that popular but now it is getting popular and more numbers getting them selves pierced. The most common piercing are the ear and the belly button. There are few studios in the Colombo city and few jewellery shops doing the business. Earlier I didn't have any interest over getting pierced until I met my Boy friend now my husband. I had lot o9f my friends who have got done body piercing. My husband came with the idea of getting pierced. We talk about that a lot and finally I decided to get a piercing. First I did my ears. It didn't went ok, got sestered and I had to remove it, But I did it an again, that is not the story I am going to tell u. After our marriage my husband came with the new idea of getting the navel pierced. I was totally gone against him because I believed it is a very pain full thing. But after some time I agreed to get it done. We decided to go to the same plac e I got my ears pierced on the second time. I gave a call and they told that no appointments required just walking in to get it done.

I was very nervous and I don't want to get the thing done. I told this to my hubby. But at that time we are in front of the studio. He asked me to decide whether I want to get pierced or not and he will be ok with the decision I take. I want to get it done but I am afraid of the pain involve. Finally I decided to go ahead. We both got down from the car and went to the studio.
There was a man in the counter with a good smile on his face. I told him that we want to get some information about belly button piercing. He gave all the details including the procedure, jewellery and the after care. He even showed his belly button piercing to us. I aske from him whether I can get it done today. He said yes and asked me to select the jewellery. He told that the initial piercing will be done only with the banana ring. I selected a one with two white stones on the two balls. I asked from him whether I can get done the piercing by Sunethra who did my ears. She was available and he send a message to Sunethra that she has to perform a belly button piercing.
She spoke to me and got recognized that she did my ears. She took the jewellery from the cabinet and asked us to come with her. We went there the same room I got my ears done, a very clean and tidy room. There were one another girl the helper and another girl who is interesting to get her self pierced on the belly button. Sunethra told her that she has had got a good opportunity to witness a belly button piercing.
Now it was the time for the piercing. First she asked me to lay down on the bed. Then she cleaned the belly button using some liquid. I was very nervous, my husband stood be side me. After piercing she took the jewellery and measured the length of it using a Vanier. Then she took a pen and first made a mark on in side of the button and then with the help of the Vanier measurement she made the mark on outside. Then she told that every thing is done to make the piercing. She told me to be relax as much as possible. Then she put on the clamp and told that this is the worst part of the piercing. It was really hurt my self.. She waited for about one minute and at once she pushed the needle through the flesh. It was hurt me a lot. But not that much I was expected. The needle was some thing made out of somewhat flexible plastic. After the piercing she cut the needle and shorted it with a help of a Sesser. Then she removed the clamp. I opened my eyes and saw the needle which has pie rced my belly button.
Then it was the time to insert the ring through the hole. She first insert the one end of the ring to the flexible needle and with the help of that pushed the bar to the hole. It was again little bit pain full. In another 2, 3 minutes the every thing was over she screwed the top ball and cleaned the area. There was no bleeding at all. It seems to me a perfect job.
Then she asked me to see the new look I have got. I went to the mirror and I was not able to believe my eyes, I have done it, I got a belly button piercing like Britney Spears........
Aftercare was not hat difficult in my case. After every bath I cleaned it with surgical spirit. And I waited for 3 days to get the first bath after piercing. Now it almost two months it has healed without any problems.
