Well, I have seen almost everyone with a belly button ring. And I wanted one SO bad. So I finally begged and begged and I couldn't believe it when my mom said I could get one. We were in Florida for vacation and I had enough money. I searched around for a piercing places and I found the closest one to where we were staying and it was open!!

On the way there I was so excited. We finally pulled up to the place and my mom was freaking out because all the tattooed up guys and pierced girls were all outside. Most of them were people who worked there. So we walked in and the guy kind of looked at me funny. No one said anything then out of his mouth ..."How many I help you?" and before I could say anything my mom blurts out "she's here to get her belly button pierced." He stared at me for a second and asked how old I was. "12" I responded shyly.
Well he let me pick out my jewelry, but he suggested on a hoop cause he said it would heal faster. So he took me into the back room and put this weird red stuff on my stomache. I layed on the table and waited for the jewelry to be sterilized. Finally he made me stand up, he marked the dots where the piercing would go. I told him I liked the placing. So I layed back down and he clamped my belly button.(Felt very weird.)
I was talking to my brother and his friend who were down in FL with us. They were watching from behind the door cause they wanted to see what it would look like. The piercer was telling me to count to 3 and on 3 take a deep breathe and let it out slowely. Well, I thought he was telling me that because my brother made me laugh. So the next thing I hear is "Oh my god that's awesome!!" come out of my brothers friends mouth. I didn't know what he was talking about. I felt a little pressure on my stomache and the guy said "You're done." I was amazed, I didn't feel it at all. It was less painful then when I got my ears pierced!!
I felt a little pressure, like pushing down on my stomache. But that's all I felt. I later found out that the pressure is them putting the jewelry in. You could kind of feel them put the jewelry in, but it doesn't hurt. So I got my cleaning guide sheet and the healing process and all that. The whole ride home in the car it felt so weird because I felt like if I sat normally it would rip out or something. The only problem with this is that you always want to touch it. DONT!! That's the worse thing, the more you touch it, the more sore it's going to end up feeling. And watch out, it tends to get stuck on towels and some shirts or sweaters. But I had absolutely no trouble sleeping on it, but some people do.
Well...that was the first time I got it done. See, after about 6 months it got infected and it grew this bubble, so when I went to a piercers to get it checked out they had to pop the bubble, it was filled with puss.Yes I know YUCK!! After the bubble healed I didn't like what it looked like anymore, there was barely any skin left between my skin and the barbell. So I took it out and let it heal.
I let it completely heal, then went to a place in Deep River, Ct near the town I live in. They did basically the same procedure...make the dots, clamped my belly button and made me count to 3, but this time my mom made weird faces that made it so much worse cause she made it seem like they were ripping open my insides. But this time I got it pierced with a barbell and not a hoop. I think the hoop had something to do with the jewelry and how it turned out.
Well it's been 5 months since my second time getting it pierced and I absolutely love it. And my mom has learned to love it too.
Anyone who wants this piercing...get it!! There is absolutely NO pain at all and the end results are awesome!!! I recommmened getting it pierced with a barbell and keep it clean so NO infection cause it looks awful when you have those puss bubbles!
Now I want the bottom of my belly button pierced and I'm looking into getting an Industrial. They are awesome and I can't wait til I get one. And when I do...I'll have another story!!
