I wanted my navel pierced since about last year when I was 12. But the law says that even with parental consent you must be 13 or older. So I figured I might as well take this time to persuade my mom. She wasn't very happy with it but she agreed that I could have it when I was 13. My father didn't care much as long as he didn't have to come with me to get it done. So all that was left was to wait for my birthday.

When I finally turned 13 there were always reasons for it to keep getting pushed aside. There was always something to do or a reason to wait (I did gymnastics and was not able to get it done but eventually I quit). But me and my mom decided we were finally going to go as long as I did something with her before (something at my school).

I was soo excited. I dragged my 2 friends, my brother, and my mom to the Jade Dragon at about 9:30 last night. It is not the prettiest place but it is supposed to be the cleanest in chicago and has a really good rep. Besides, I knew some people who have gotten piercings there and said that it was a really good place. It was not the most impressive looking but looks aren't what really matter for me.

When I got there a man came up to me and asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted my navel pierced. Then he had to get identification from me and my mom and all of that stuff. Well I was totally shaking and decided to sit down until everything was ready. I was planning on bringing my friends in but the guy said that they weren't allowed to and they had to sit down in the front. So I just grabbed my mom to come with me.

Then I had to pick out the jewelry. I was really hoping I could get a barbell but when I got there they only pierced with plain silver rings. But I went ahead and got it. Then we had to pay for it. Everything cost $60. And I got the piercing, the ring, aftercare products, and a free barbell (it was clear red). Then he told me that everything was ready and came with the needle and jewelry.

I was soo nervous and was shaking so hard. First he had me lay down and put on some iodine. Then I stood up and he marked my navel. Unlike most people he didn't ask me if it was straight but just told me to sit down (no worries, it was straight). Then he put the clamp on which was a tiny pinch. Then he sprayed my stomach with this freeze spray because it makes everything numb. Then he asked me if I was ready. He said he would count to three and then put the needle in. But as he finished the sentence I welt a tiny tiny prick and I had a feeling he had done it but still kept my eyes closed. I couldn't even feel when he put the jewelry in. He was still acting like he was about to put the needle through but everything was already over. He told me to stand up cause I was done. I saw a little dot of blood but he covered it with bandages.

I want to kill everyone on this site who said that it hurt. You all got me soo afraid but it was nothing. The clamp is what hurt the most and all it was a was a little pinch. The needle was even les than a pinch and i honestly didn't feel the ring being put in.

My friends had decided to wait outside and I tricked them into thinking that I had chickened out! THey were mad until I showed them the patch over my stomach! :) I was so excited and glad I had gone through with it. As soon as I got into the car it started to feel a little sore. But bearable. I decided to keep the bandage on over night so I didn't get to see it until this morning but when I did it wasn't swollen or anything. I had to clean it then. That hurt much more than the actual piercing but was also bearable.

I can change the jewelry in 2 week!! That seems very short so I plan on keeping it in a bit longer. Well I'm very sensitive so im hoping it doesn't get infected! But I'm so thrilled! It's adorable.

I would just like to say that it was honesty no pain at all!!!!! I can't stress that enough. And I would recommend it to anybody.
