I had been thinking about getting it done for quite a while but I never thought I would get the guts to actually do it. But I did! So here is my story and I hope that it helps anybody in some way or another!

My mom, aunt, and me had been shopping in the mall when we came across this booth in the middle of the mall that had incense, holders, and these really cute belly button rings that had advertisements of a studio right in the mall! I ran over to my mom and told her the news. By that time the lady in charge of the booth had over heard us and told us where it was and what they did. Then I asked the question that everyone ALWAYS asks "Does it hurt?" The answer was no which was a big relief because all's that I kept on hearing was that it was the worst pain I have ever felt!

So as we got done with all of our shopping, the one thing that I could not stop thinking about was getting it done. So we went to the place called "Outer Loop" and I finally got the nerve to ask one of the ladies about the piercing. So she told me her story about getting it done and showed me hers, which was a dolphin that was coming through her belly button(if you can understand that),. She then handed me the paperwork that I filled out. Then the waiting began.

As we waited the lady let me pick out a free barbell which got my mind off of things but then the guy called my name.

I slowly walked back into the small room with my mom in hand and proceeded to lay onto the table. I was getting a little worried but the Troy, the fantastic piercer, started cracking jokes which loosened me up a whole lot.

As he was getting everything prepared and cleaning out my belly button I began staring at the walls which had posters of cartoon characters with rings all over them. One I found particularly funny was a man that had all of his private areas pierced.

He then told me to stand up straight, and as being a member of marching band I popped to attention with my head at ten degrees and my thumbs grabbing the seam of my pants. He gave me a weird look but then he placed the blue dot to make sure that he mad the piercing straight.

I laid back on the table where he then got the clamp out. Its kind of like a animals toenail clipper but instead of a cutter at the end it had a diamond shape thing in the center so that he could get the needle through straight and perfect.

>From that point on I couldn't look down anymore because I knew I would get sick or I wouldn't go through with it. The clamp hurt a little just because he couldn't get enough skin in the clamp so he started to pull at it a little bit. But the whole thing was my fault because you have to remember to RELAX during the process or it will hurt a lot worse.

Then I felt a slight release in pressure and I heard "Okay your almost done. Needle went through nicely." (I later found out that the needle was like a hollow roofing nail.)I was so amazed because it didn't hurt at all! As he was getting the loop he put in a cork so that the needle wouldn't go through anymore. Then he put in the loop and wiped off all of the ointment and everything he used in the process.

So after it was finally over he began explaining that I must get antibacterial soap and wash it out 2 times a day by putting the soap on there and twisting it around so that the soap gets into the womb. BUT always remember to wash you hands first before touching it. He also gave me instructions to put a 1/4 of a tsp. of sea salt to a shot glass of warm water for 5 min so that it will heal faster.

So I walked out of the store on cloud 9 showing everyone in the path "Look what I just did!" And for the rest of the time in the mall I would flash my mom and she would say "Ohhhh so sexy!"

Its been over 4 months since that happened and I have gotten the cutest belly rings to go in there. You will be just as excited when you change your belly ring for the first time as you did when you first got it done. I promise you that. But just remember to take care of it in the best possible way so that it doesn't get infected and you will be fine! So I wish you good luck on your piercing!
