Hi IM 16 and want to share my navel piercing experience. I've always wanted my navel pierced for a long time. My cousin got hers done for her birthday in March so I decided to get mine done. So I did a lot of research on navel piercing and found this web site and read everyone's stories. I also posted on the Body Piercing message boards. I asked my Mom if I can get it done she said she didn't care and she paid for it and all. She said she would rather me get a tattoo than a navel piercing but I really wanted the navel piercing.

So Monday, March 31 I went to the place to get the paper, since it was at night I went home. Than Tuesday when I got home from school I had to get the paper signed by my Mom someone else and me. Than I was so excited cause I was ready to get my piercing. So April 2nd after school I decided to go get it done. I got home and was so excited so I ate something and my Mom, little brother and I got in the car and drove to the place. The whole way there I was so excited/nervous cause I thought it was going to hurt so much. When my cousin got hers done she almost passed out when she got hers done. The place was about 15 minutes away from my house.
When we got in the place I had butterflies in my stomach and felt like changing my mind and not get it done but I didn't want to cause I really wanted it done. So I went in gave the paper to the guy who pierced me and he brought me into a room and closed the curtain behind him my Mom wanted to watch so she came in the room too. Well, as he was getting everything prepared I asked my questions I had to ask him and he answered them and went over the after care instructions with me and gave me a piece of paper with them on it and the phone number to the place in case I had any more questions for him. Than he told me to lift my shirt up and he put two dots on my belly button where the needle would go and come out he than asked me to look in the mirror to see if it was good I said yes than he told me to lay down I got more nervous and I was nervous for nothing so I laid down on the table and stared at the ceiling. The whole time my Mom was standing there and was like "your nuts yo ur crazy for doing this" my piercer replied saying "it looks like I got a neurotic Mom here" I was like "oh yes" but she told me she would rather me get a tattoo than a piercing he said a tattoo hurts a lot more.
So than he put the clamps on I DID NOT feel a thing than he got the needle and told breath and me to be calm in and out. So I did and about 5 seconds later he was putting the ring in and said, "we're done" I was like "no way that was so quick and easy and I didn't really feel anything". It was so simple it felt like a doctor needle going in me. So I got up from the table and look at my new navel in the mirror and was so happy I went through with it. My Mom actually liked it too. So we paid the piercer I thanked him and we left and went to the store to get the stuff to clean it with. Than we went home and I was so excited to go to school the next day and showed it off. I showed my step-dad when he got home from work and he jokingly said "IM going to get one too" than I went to sleep that night it was tough sleeping on my stomach for the first week cause it was so sore. So the next day I showed it off to all my friends they were like "your are so crazy" but they liked it and w anted to get it done too. Its been 3 months now and I absolutely love my piercing there is no redness anymore and I already have 3 new rings. The next thing I plan on getting is a tattoo on my hip and lower back. Well, that's my great piercing experience I had and I hope you all had similar experiences like I did and anyone who lives in the Long Island area should go to the place I went to they are very clean and very nice I am going to go to get my tattoos there also.
