Ever since I saw a navel pierced I had loved it. Not only was it sexy but it was proof that pain comes with beauty. So of course being only 15 the first thing I did was go to my parents. My parents are the strict, yuck you'll look like a bum, type parents. Their opinions on piercings are the ones that 90% of all other kids under age can relate to. In march after asking and not really getting a real response I truly thought I was going to get it down. I was wrong. My mom wondered where I had gotten such an idea and we got in a huge fight. So after begging and pleading my dad said yes. If I kept my room clean for a month. Keeping my room clean would be a huge hassle. My mom didn't say much about it. So on June. 22 after not keeping my room clean I was allowed. As a grad gift. (From grade.9) I woke up that morning not really caring nor feeling excited. I wasn't too nervous about the pain being I've had enough pain in my life already,

My mom simply said she would not go and didn't agree with my father on this. So I grabbed my best friend Jessica and off we were, I had an appointment for 3. We got to divine and I chose out my jewelery while my dad paid. A plain stainless steel curved barbell. After waiting for a few minutes Chris called us in and both my dad and friend followed me into the small room. Chris sat us all down on the bed and explained the after care procedures. I was getting a little nervous by then. After he was done that he put Iodine on my stomach and marked my belly. I didn't have the option of looking at the holes doesn't matter. He then had my lie down to put on the clamps. Chris had a hard time with the clamps saying "Oh you've got one wee tight little belly here" so he had to make them quite tight. He explained that on the count of 4 he would put the needle through. 1..2...3..4 OUCH! The needle went through and felt like a sharp pain and a lot of pressure it almost made me slide down the bed.

I made weird facial expressions and looked at Jessica who was above me holding my hand. A lot of people say it doesn't hurt but I thought it did. Then he put in the jewelery which also hurt. My dad and Jessica both watched the needle go in and were down right disgusted by it. They said it looked like a spike going through me. He was then done. I sat up and loved it! It was so cute. Except for the fact that my stomach was red and splotchy all around it. I hadn't eaten in awhile due to the fact that I wanted to shrink my stomach before. Advice: always eat! You feel so sick and nasty after if you don't even light headed. It didn't hurt at all after. My dad paid Chris a tip and thanked him. It only hurts when I get a shirt stuck under the top ball or it smack it in my sleep which I have a tendency to do. I've been punched in the stomach and half of my friends forget its there and start throwing smacks at my belly. So be careful, make sure you don't rough house. My dad t hinks it's the cutest and wants me to get a playboy bunny barbell while my mom..She hasn't even seen it a week after. I've been cleaning it with sea salt mixed with water and taking the crusties off. I love it to death and plan on keeping it for a long time.

I have to say if you want your navel done go for it! It's great, looks real cute and is awesome to wear in bikinis, but be sure you're prepared to take good care of it..The navel is the most popular but hardest to heal. Wear shirts that show it off as much as possible. It looks good and takes away the dark sweatiness! I also have to say that Chris from Divine in Edmonton was an awesome awesome piercer he's gentle, sweet and nice as pie! So if you are from edmonton go to divine and see if Chris is in! I hope to get a Madonna a.s.a.p but knowing my folks it won't happen till I'm 16.. When people say piercings are addictive they're right. I want so many piercings but with my strict parents it can really suck. Email me if anyone has any questions or anything I'd love to help out or talk or something!
