I'm Noelle, I'm 15, and I've wanted my belly pierced for quite a while now. I asked my mom a couple years ago, and she always said, "When you're sixteen." UGH! This drove me crazy! I kind of forgot after a while. Earlier this year I started thinking about it again. So, I came to BME and researched many different piercings, as I like many other ones. I really want my lip pierced, and I asked mom again, and she said no, of course. But with me being the brat I am, I bugged her for a while. She finally said, "ok, you can get your belly button done this summer." I was so incredibly happy! So, we called up a couple of places, and many of them wouldn't pierce people under 16 years. So, I was talking to my friend Brandi at school, and she went to a place called Electric Chair Tattoo. She enjoyed her experience, so I went online and looked at their web site, and I liked their portfolios a lot. She went to the parlor in Flint, MI, but my mom didn't want to go to that one, she wanted t o go to the one in Clio, which was completely fine with me, because two of the piercers there came to my school to talk about the dangers of piercings and tattoos. My mom called them, and we decided to go that following Saturday.

My sister was gonna get hers done too, so she came along on the 45-minute drive, as well as my best friend, Lauren. I wasn't nervous at all. I figured it would've hurt a little bit, but nothing I couldn't handle (high pain tolerance). So, we got there, and walked inside. It was very clean, they had a pop machine and some guitar and amps sitting around, plus a couple couches. The piercings rooms weren't down a little dark hallways, which I liked. I was going to be pierced my Kymmburleigh, but she wasn't their, so Chris pierced me, which was all good. I filled out the paper work, then they copied my birth certificate and my school id, as well as my moms license. I decided I would go before my sister, so she and Lauren came to the little window to watch me get pierced. My mom sat on one of the couches. She didn't wanna watch.
Chris is a very nice guy. He told me exactly what he was going to do, like just making to mark with the ink and all that stuff. I think they only use CBRs for navel piercings, but he let me choose a bead for my ring, so I chose a pretty purpley-pinkish colored cat-eye type of ball. So, then he told me to lay down on the hospital type bed. He told me what he was doing. You see, he does not use clamps when doing piercings, he does all freehand, because clamps cause unnecessary bruising. So he told me he was lining up the cork and the needle to the dots on my belly he had made previously. He said, "Ok, now breathe in, and let it out now," and he pushed the needle through. It pinched for a second, and since I couldn't see what he was doing, I expected him to do more, because the pinch was nothing at all like I expected. He then said, "ok, don't move the needle's in your skin," then he followed the needle with the jewelry, and then the bead was in place, and I was done! Just like that! he told me I could stand up, look at it and everything. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. I went outside with Lauren then, and my sister got hers done. He gave us after-care pamphlets, and then we left, like that. We were in and out in about 20 minutes, if that.
I enjoyed my experience very much. Chris was a very nice guy and an awesome freehand piercer. I would recommend him to anyone, and if you're scared, don't be! it's so simple! This all happened two nights ago, and my piercing is so beautiful. I don't regret a thing. Everything was perfect about my experience, You should totally go and get it done if you want it. Don't let a little bit of pain stop you. When I turn 16, I'm going to go back to Chris and get my nose and my tragus in both ears done, and when I'm legally of age, I'll go on my own to get my lip, tongue, and many more ear piercings. Later on, I think I'll turn my belly button into a project and some other holes in it. So, have fun and enjoy your time! Happy piercing!!!
