A few months ago I asked my parents for a second set of holes in my ears, they said NO & I was about to get really annoyed with them but then they said the only other piercing I could have was my belly button (wow). I had not really thought about this 'cause I never thought they would let me, but they thought it looked good and I agreed.

After thinking it over for a week I decided I really wanted it done and started to look on sites such as BME for more info- it really helped I also asked other people who had got theirs done.
I told my parents that I wanted it done they first said to wait till I was 14 but then when they saw I had been researching it said to wait for the school holidays so I asked around for a good piercing place, I eventually chose Martin Phelps as 3 people I know had had it done here and had no problems with their piercing and theirs looked great, my dad made an appointment for when I got back from my holiday. When he told me he had booked it I got worried about the pain side but I thought as many people have had it done it must be bearable.
The Day It Was To Be Done
My stomach felt really tense as I thought about what I was about to have done, but I had a big meal- you are meant to be less likely to pass out if you have food inside you, and my dad took me to town.
When I got inside the lady introduced herself and took me upstairs to the little room, my dad had to go so he left me with my younger sister, who made evil laughs as the Heather took me through the procedure ( I highly recommend for anyone who has a younger sister with them to leave them outside as they really do not help at all). She showed me some barbells and I chose a surgical steel one with baby blue jewels in each end (this one is really cute) she told me she would put in a 12 as I was going away and she thought it would be safer to put in a longer one incase I have any trouble- she told me that she could later swap it to an 8 one, she told me I would be fine with swimming on holiday which is good as some people say not to which was a bit worrying.
She made the mark and asked my sister what she thought, she then showed it me and it was dead central so I said that it was perfect and I lay down (as she cleaned the jewelry) and took a deep breath. I closed my eyes as I did not want to see what she was doing incase it put me off, I felt pressure and then a really quick sharp pain which was all the needle because she did not use any clamps, which is a good thing as many people say this is the most painful part, she then told me she was screwing the ball on- it was totally fine apart from my sister saying 'ughhh' when the needle was half way through and the whole thing took about 30 seconds to make the hole and put the jewelry in. As I am small the needle end caught me when it was in because it was long but the mark has now virtually vanished. I felt a bit dizzy so she made me sit down before paying £35. She wrote down the stuff to keep it clean with- Savlon antiseptic wash, which I got from a chemist for about three pounds. I have had it done for a day now and love it, it is still a bit sore if I stretch but it isn't red at all and I cannot wait till I go away and can show everyone it wearing my bikini- only 10 days!!!!!
Email me for any info if you wish to get yours done- its worth it also email me if you know of any places (in Gloucestershire) or websites to get good jewelry from.
I still really want a second hole but I am glad my parents said no because otherwise I would have never had got my belly button pierced which I think is so so so so so much nicer!!!!!!! My friends all think that it looks really really good and quite a few of them want theirs done now even my mum said she would if she was 25 years younger. Lots of people think young girls have it done because they are a sheep but I am one of the only girls I know that have it done and would never have it done just to be considered 'cool'.
