I've wanted my navel pierced for two years now. But my mom always said no, that I was too young and not responsible enough. She told me I could once I was 16. Almost all my friends have it done. I love it; it looks so cute on them! I wanted it really badly, I almost had my friend do it for me. But my birthday was coming up soon, and I was turning 15. I told my mom all I wanted for my birthday was to get my belly button pierced. At first she said, "no, not till your 16". But after about a week of begging and begging her, we came up with an agreement. I told her that I would pay for it, and that I would take very good care of it, and not let the piercing get infected.
At A Glance Author Missy Contact Missy@bme.anon When A month ago Artist Misty Studio Blues Tattoos Location Detroit, MI Two days before my birthday, my friend and I went looking for a place to get it done. She had just convinced her mom to let her get it done too for her birthday. (The same day as mine!) We found two places. One looked really clean and close to our houses. The people there were really nice to us too. We wrote down their number and left. The other place didn't look as good. It was dark and didn't look very clean. There were needles lying around everywhere. We knew right away that we weren't going to do it there. That night we called up the first place and made our appointments for the next day.
The day of our birthdays, my mom and I went and picked up my friend and her mom. On the way there, all we could talk about was that we were actually getting it done! My friend started to get a little nervous. A couple of our friends had told us that it hurt really badly when they got it done. Our moms kept trying to talk us out of it by scaring us. But it didn't work. Once we got there, my friend and I were okay.
When we got inside, our moms filled out some forms while we looked around. I didn't have very much money, so I had to be careful about what barbell I picked out. My friend picked out a really cute pink/red barbell that said sexy on the inside of the top ball. I picked out a sliver/pink barbell that said naughty on the inside of the top ball. There were two people in front of us, so we waited and watched another older girl get a little tattoo of a rose done on her hip. After waiting and signing all the forms they took both of us in the back room. Our moms said they didn't want to watch. It was really clean and had pictures of tattoos and piercing of other people that had got it done there too.
My friend was nervous, so I went first. The lady told me to roll my shirt up to my bra. She cleaned my belly button with a wipe. Then she put two blue dots where she was going to put the needle through. She handed me a mirror and asked me if it looked good, I said yes. Then she told me to lie down on the chair. I watched her clean and take out the tools. She explained what she was going to do to me first. Then she put the clamps on and she said "ready?" I said yes. She counted to three, and she pushed the needle through. It didn't hurt at all! When she put the barbell trough it did sting a little, but not as much as my friends had told me. When she was done she gave me a mirror, I looked in it, and it was beautiful! I fell in love with it!
When I walked out the first thing my friend asked was, "did it hurt?" I told her no, and she went in the room. After about 2 min. she came back out, hers looked great too! After that, Misty (The lady that pierced us) told us how to take care of it. She said that in about a month we can come back and she would change the barbells for us. We paid and left.
So far it's been a month, we both still love our piercing. Were going in soon to buy new barbells and have them changed. I've had no problems at all. I've cleaned it every night and it looks great. I love showing it off to everyone. Everyone gives us compliments on it. I would recommend that if you want it done, go for it! It doesn't hurt like everyone had told me. If we can do it, anyone can!
