I always thought belly button rings were cute, but my parents absolutely refused to even consider letting me get it done. My dad did not like my 2nd holes, but my mom does not care about them. Well my 18th birthday was Jan 27, so then I got my third holes done, but with the gun I didn't know better. Well my boyfriend was not here at the time, so I waited till he got back from being out to sea for a few weeks. He got back Valentines Day. So on Feb 17, 03 we went out to Waterford Lakes/UCF area.

My boyfriend called the place Friday night and the guy said they would open at 9am we made sure they were going to be open because it was President Day. We got there like 11:15am and no one was there. So we just decided to go to Waterford Lakes to look around at the stores there. After being there for a while my boyfriend called the tattoo/piercing place and they were finally open. We got back to the place and walked in, we walked around a bit looking at the all the cute belly jewelry, and the pictures of tattoos. We had to wait like 10mins because the piercer named Lance was doing a tattoo on someone. Lance was pretty cool and very friendly. After he was done with the doing the guy's a tattoo, he came out and asked what I wanted. I told him that I wanted my belly button pierced. Well he gave me the papers to fill out and checked my ID. While I was doing that he was getting everything sat up. I decided to get a barbell, I never did get to pick out if I wanted jewels on the balls or not, it did not really matter much to me at least I was getting it done. Everything was sealed in a sterilized package laid out on a table like at the hospital.
He led my boyfriend and I back to the little room, at this time I was getting very nervous. First he had me lift my shirt up so he could clean my belly off, and then he marked the holes for the needle. Next he had me lay in the chair that laid back and it did not look anything like a dentist chair. After that he put the clamps on me which did not hurt one bit. During this I was holding my boyfriend's hand who was taking pictures of every step. I was very very nervous, I felt like I was gonna throw up. Well I was not gonna chicken out because I wanted this so bad. He never had me breathe 3 times, he just did it. I liked it better not knowing when he was going to piercer me, he just did it. It did not really hurt at all, just a quick pinch and some pressure but that's it. After the needle was in I looked down and saw it in my belly button it was so cool, after that I was not nervous anymore. I felt so stupid because of how nervous I was. It did not hurt or anything when he was putting the barbell in, just a little tug and screwed on the ball and I was done. I then jumped up from the chair and looked in the mirror and was very pleased and fell in love with what I saw, my boyfriend liked it too. I never felt light headed either. I ate lunch before I came. I would suggest eating something before you go just in case you are prone to faint. It was not too red, and it did not bleed any yet.
Well I had no problem with it yet, when I woke up Tuesday morning their was a tiny bit of blood, but it did stop bleeding. Later that day that during 2nd period, which is a class I have to help with the toddlers, we were outside and one of them jump in my lap, because I was sitting down. She hit my belly it did hurt a bit but only a few seconds. I got up to check it and it was bleeding badly, it was bleeding really bad the whole school day it did stop a few times. When I got home I called my piercer and asked him how to stop the bleeding he told me to clean it well and then let it be till I was going to take a shower that night. Well now it's Friday March 14, 03 and its doing fine, been about month March 17th. The top and bottom holes were bruised in the first week. It does not hurt one bit either unless it gets bumped. I can move it pretty good when I clean it. I clean it in the morning with Dial soap and at night. When I get home from school I do a sea salt soak for 10 mi nutes.
Its doing really good the top hole is a bit red. It was a bit crusty, but the sea salt helped a lot. I can't wait to get new jewelry to change it too. I want this cute barbell that looks like a zipper and it says KISS on it.
