I got my piercing about six months ago. I was searching this site getting more information about how to take care of your belly piercing and what it looked like when it was healed. I called around to see who was the best and how long they have been piercing other people's navels. I always have thought navel piercing looked exotic and looked rad. My sister got hers when she was 15 and I was jealous so I started to ask my mom for my stomach pierced to. My mom was suppose to get it with my sister we were both trying to talk her into it but she chicken so I was trying to get her to pierce it when I got mine done. She chickened out but I tried! My sister told me I should get it done and how they did it and other things.

Since my Mom let my sister got hers done I was allowed to have mine done too. My mom said that I had to wait till I was 15 like my sister cause I was 13 at the time, so I dropped it. A couple months later I told my mom I wanted it done to. She said I could have it done on my 14 birthday. I left it at that for about a week and then I didn't want to wait a couple more months so she took my earlier. I called East side ink the day before I got it done to see how much it cost and when I could get it done. They said they had an opening for tomorrow! It only cost about 35$ I asked my mom and she said yes!

I went to East side ink. The man looked clean and was very nice and explained everything to me before hand so I knew what was going to happen and if I was ok with it. It was a small place but it was clean. We stepped up at the desk and the man told me to chose one of the beads. I chose a silver ball because my sister picked one of the other beads and it broke while she was sleeping. The man took my mom and I to a room, I sat down on a table and he looked at my stomach and asked if I wanted on the top or the bottom I said the top. I was starting to feel really nervous about this I don't take pain very well and get nervous around needles. He took a piece of paper cloth and sprayed some kind of anti-bacteria on my stomach so it was clean and then dried it off. Next he took a black marker and drew two dots of where he was going to poke the hole through. He told me to lie down on the table and it might hurt a bit but he had to cut of the circulation of the blood. He clamped it th at didn't hurt at all. Next he gave me a stress ball to hold while he was going to out the needle through. He took the needle and started to slide it through. My mom was talking to me trying to calm me while this was being done. I'm not going to lie it did hurt. If you think it wont your wrong. I mean it wasn't the worst pain in the world but I mean it's a needle going through your skin your going to feel something.

Next he took the bead and slide it through I didn't feel that at all. Mine didn't even bleed. I had a normal size which is a 14 gauge. When I was finished I looked down and I loved what I saw it was so cute! He told me what to do and gave me a sheet on how long it takes to heal how to clean it and what to do. The paper said a couple of things we could buy to clean it so my mom took me to the store to find something to clean it with. We went and bought what we needed and then went home. When I got home it started to hurt and I couldn't move it that much. It took about a week before I could finally sleep on my stomach again without it hurting. Also sometimes when I cleaned it this gross puss oozed out. I stopped cleaning my stomach for a couple months and it now it looks gross and is trying to grow over it but the rings there so don't stop cleaning it its important to and for a hint use salt water on it for like 20 minutes a day. It was totally worthy the pain to get it done I love it and I'm very happy with it. I haven't changed the ring yet but when I do I have to go back to East Side Ink because he wants to change it the first time to see if its completely healed. If you have any questions just e-mail me about it.
