Hello, my name is sally and I'm 14 years old. My sister has her belly button pierced (she is 21 now but had it done when she was 16), and I have always liked it so I decided to ask my mom if I could have mine done and she told me, like she always does to "ask your dad"...what a mistake that was! I asked him and as I thought, he said "no and don't ask again". Oh no! I was absolutely gutted!

By this time it was coming up to my birthday and as you might have guessed, I said to my dad that my belly button piercing would be a great birthday prez! And he actually agreed but said that I couldn't be cheeky from then until my birthday which was about 2 weeks away (I am quite cheeky to my mom and dad so this was hard for me)!
Anyway the day finally came, I was so so so exited and not that nervous, I got up, opened my presents and waited until my sister came down to get me at 11.00. We went in the car to northfeild which is a little shopping place about 15 minute drive away and saw the beauty salon (cant remember the name!) we went in and it was really trendy and neat and asked the girl at the counter if I could get my belly button pierced, she said yes would 12.00 be ok? Of course I agreed so my sister and me went to look around some shops.
When it got to about 11.50 me and my sister decided it was time to go back to the place! We got in and I had to fill out a form which my sister had to sign and also pick out my jewellery which was a beautiful barbell with a light pink stone at the bottom, then a man came out of a room and the girl at the counter said to him "this is the girl that would like her navel pierced", if I'm going to be honest I didn't like the idea of a man piercing my belly button for some reason but now I am really glad he did! He was the best! He told me and my sister to follow him upstairs, I entered the room and it looked VERY clean, Anthony told me to lift up my top so he could mark my belly button, when I lifted it up he said "just relax your stomach and don't breathe in". So I just relaxed and he said "god, you aren't holding it in are you, you have a perfect stomach! I was well chuffed! He marked it and asked my sister if she thought it was straight, she said yes then he asked me, it was p erfect so I said yes (obviously!) Next he told me to lie on the dentist like chair while he prepared, he got all of the stuff out of sealed packets, even the barbell which I thought was very hygienic and made me feel safe. Next he told me that he was going to spray the liquid on my belly and that it might be a bit cold and yes...it was! Next he got the clamp and clamped my stomach, the clamp was the worst bit because it was quite tight but it needed to be because Anthony said that because I am quite thin (don't get me wrong, I'm not as thin as a stick!) he needed a tighter clamp, it didn't really hurt it was just a little uncomfortable.
Anthony then started talking to me about school, family etc making me feel very comfortable with him, then he told me he was going to put in the needle, I said ok and he did it, it was just a little pinch then it was over.... Painless. He then put the bar in which I DIDNT FEEL AT ALL and said "ok sally that's it"! He told me to stand up and have a look at it in the mirror; I was SO pleased with it! Then he put a big plaster on it and told me to keep it on for about 1 hour.
We went downstairs to pay the lady at the till then I thanked Anthony and he said I could come back any time I needed any help with changing the jewellery or anything, then we left.
We caught the bus home then when I got home I showed my mom and she liked it.
I have had it pierced for nearly 3 months now and although it stung a bit a few hours later has healed now and I have 6 different bars which I regularly change. At first I cleaned it 3 times a day with the cleaning solution they gave me at the beauty place but now I clean it once a day with that and then once with normal water and it is completely fine and never hurts or stings and there is no redness at the top like there was a little of before.
