For three years I have wanted my navel pierced. It all started when my cousin got her's pierced, I thought it was so cute, I wanted mine done so bad, but knew I couldn't because I was twelve. Knowing that I couldn't made me want it that much more. My parents were totally against it, my Mom thought it was cute for 'older girls' that wasn't twelve. So I forgot about that thought for a year or so, then asked again, but of course I still got the whole "too young" story. My Mom knew that I wanted it really bad,and that it's a very popular piercing that doesn't really cause any harm,other than infection,but you can avoid that by taking care of the piercing. So she said she'd think about it. I wanted it so bad that I remember taking clip on earrings and putting them on there pretending I had it pierced. I knew I wanted it really bad,but the question was,was I ready for it? So I did my research...And realized,people get this done everyday,hundreds of people have this kind of piercin gs...And as long as you keep it clean and go through the afrercare then there's no trouble.....Bmezine.com became very helpful..when doing the research. I showed my mom some information on the piercing(it helped). Well I was fourteen and still begging,so My mom said I could get it done when I was fifteen..I could hardly wait!!!! Well, those months passed on by and getting close to my fifteenth Birthday,I had three months left, so thanks to my Aunt,agreeing with me... Her and I talked my mom into letting me get it done then!!

I was 14 and couldn't wait..couldn't believe it was going to happen!!!!! Finally the day had come to get it done,I was so nervous,It was Monday, March 11th...We took a thirty minute drive to the next city. We went and had dinner,then off to the piercer!! When we got there, the place looked a little dumpy,and I was kind of scared,I'm a baby when it comes to pain! I went in and went to the desk, A man with several different tattoos and piercings came from the back,and asked what he could do for us,My mom told him I wanted my belly button pierced so he gave her the papers to sign and went through the aftercare with me. I had to sign some papers myself,just stating I didn't have any health problems and that I wanted to go through with the procurer.After he told my mom about the kind of infections you can get she got a little worried and was about to back out on letting me get it done. He seemed kind of scared to do it because of my age, like he was afraid that I wouldn't clean i t,he kept going through the aftercare,which was really kind of good. So all the signing was over with and he told me to come on back to the side room. My Aunt went back with me,my mom didn't want to watch,that stuff scares her. I walked into the room which had the "dentist Chair" a mirror and pictures of different tattoos and piercings on the wall. I sat in the dentist looking chair, laid back and pulled up my shirt. I was sitting there a nervous wreck,but yet excited..couldn't believe it was actually happening! Waiting on the guy, I watched what he was doing, I noticed he got his tools from a closed package and he put on latex gloves. He then looked at my belly button,although he didn't mark it like I expected, but it did turn out straight. Then he put the clamp on,most people complain about it being the worst part and hurting but it didn't bother me at all. I didn't really watch what he was doing I just wanted to relax and not think about it. I felt a little prick as the needle went through the skin,and he said "i'm about to put in the ring " and my Aunt was like "it's over!" I didn't get to chose the ring I wanted I had a starter ring that the Piercing place required,it was a CBR(captive bead ring) or some of you may know it as a BCR(ball closer ring) It had a sliver/black bead. After he put the ring in I was ready to go! Afterwards I felt nothing. It never gave me any problems,I keep it clean like I was supposed to and everything!!!
Well about a month and a half ago I had the great idea of changing the ring(or so I thought). I changed it, then i had problems with my piercing and ended up losing my bead to my original CBR and had to go back to the piercer and replace the bead. I have now had it six months, I wouldn't take anything back(except for when I changed it) other than that I love it and it was well worth it! No pain,but different people,different pain tolerance.Good luck!
