Ok so I finally went and got my navel pierced and I'm so happy hat I went through with it. I've wanted it done since about sixth grade, but my mom told me I was too young and had to wait until high school. So I waited, and since i'm now entering high school, my mom said I could get it done. It took a lot of work finding a place to go. Some places had a bad reputation. Others just didn't seem right.

Then a friend recommended Action Ink. They only charge $35 dollars which is way better than the $60 a lot of places charge.

Sometime between 1:30 and 2:00 my mom and I went to pick up my friend Jessica and then we drove to Action Ink. Jessica was going to be my "moral support". I got a weird feeling when we pulled in like "I don't belong here." But I got over that quick because I knew how much I wanted this. Then when we walked in "whoa, almost hot guy near the window....is he piercing me? I hope not. I'll act so stupid..."

We went to the counter and my mom told the clerk guy (who looked like my step-cousin, except with more tattoos)what we wanted. There was a guy doing a tattoo in the other room. I took a little peek in when I went to pay and it freaked me out. The buzzing of the needle made me crazy.

But anyway, they guy doing the tattoo was the guy who was going to pierce me, so we had to wait for him to finish up. That was at least a 15 or 20 minute wait. I was really calm during the wait because I was just happy that the almost hot guy wasn't piercing me. While we waited, there was this girl just a little older than me who came in to get her tongue pierced. I think she was up after me. I heard her and her mom asking questions to the clerk guy and it completely turned me off of tongue rings. Supposedly they will swell and get all gross and you can't talk right for a little while. But anyway we're talking about my navel......

Finally he finished the tattoo, and Jessica and I followed him to the room at the very back. We looked at pictures of tattoos while we waited for the guy to finish sterilizing everything. Then he called me in. He took a pen/marker thing and marked where he was going to pierce me. Then he took out the clamps and put them on me, making sure they were in the right place. They felt so cool haha. Then I had to do some tricky maneuver onto the "chair", trying not to let the clamps move around. He had me lay down. I told Jessica to hold my hand because I was worried about the pain. Then the guy said the needle wouldn't hurt worse than the clamps (which i had a strange liking for).

I felt the needle go through. "Well that was a lie." I thought. The pain was really not much though. I mean, almost nothing. But It was nothing like the cool feeling of the clamps. Much worse than the clamps. It was like a big pinch that only lasts for about 3 seconds. After the needle was out I made this really weird face which Jessica described- "It looked like you were going to pass out."

I guess it was just the shock of having a huge needle stuck through my stomach. What else can I say?

Then I kinda knew he had put the ring in for some reason. So I looked down and watched him take the captive bead and close it up with the pliers. It was a rush knowing it was all over. I finally did it. So I got up and looked in the mirror. It was great. Perfect. I couldn't have asked for better.

I thanked the guy and then I went to the waiting room and showed my mom. She cringed but was still kinda proud that I stuck it out. I was proud of myself too.

Right now I can still feel the piercing, but it doesn't hurt. It's an annoying feeling. The aftercare sucks. I'm gonna get sick of cleaning it. But I have to clean it or else it'll get infected. I'm to use salt soaks and saline solution twice a day. So all in all, it was little pain and a big gain. I mean, I've had stomach aches that hurt worse than this.

So go get your bellybutton pierced! It's a good experience. I would really recommend Action Ink if you live in the Taunton area. They are clean, and friendly, and inexpensive. If you have any questions, any at all, just email me.
