Okay, my story starts out as most of these navel stories do. First off i asked my mom if i would be able to get my navel done,(my friend had just gotten hers and it looked great) plus for the longest time i have wanted mine done. I knew it was very unsafe so i didn't want to try any at home piercing kits. So anyway i asked my mom and she was like sure sounds great we will go next wednesday, I was then so excited. I asked her if I had to ask my dad about it, she goes and tells me it is up to me. I sat and pondered and finally felt so guilty that I asked my dad...big mistake!!

I argued with him for a while but gave up and waited until my mom came back home to talk to her. After about 2 days my mom said she talked to my dad and that he was totally fine with the piercing as long as i pay for it!!!
I was so excited and couldn't wait until wednesday came. After school wednesday (december 12) my mom and i went to appleton to 3rd Dimension. I walk in and meet 2 friends that wanted to watch it being done (also a little support for me). I told the man what I had wanted and he gave me the tipical sheets to fill out. I was so excited! when I handed over the papers they were all ready for me to get pierced! I walked into the little room, it kind of reminded me of a dentist because it had 2 chairs that looked like dentists chairs. anyways back to the story. Burt had me tuck my shirt into my bra so that it wouldn't interupt with the piercing. Then I had to stand up infront of him and he marked my tummy. He asked if it looked good...I thought okay I dunno sure sounds great!
Now for the piercing itself. I was super nervous I was laying on the dentist looking chair tapping my finger nails on the chair. Burt then said you are making me nervous doing that... this kinda lightened the mood for me knowing that he cared and wanted the whole expirience comfortable. I layed back and he put the oh so horrid clamp on. I personally didn't feel a thing I mean you know it is there but it isn't a big uncomfortable feeling. My friend stood at my side and held my hand as Burt got into is position to pierce. He didn't count or anything but told me to take a deep breath... okay another deep breath... okay a really big breath.. and as I let out the third one he pushed the needle through. I felt a little pinch but nothing else then that. I figured that he just started putting the needle in but then he tells me okay now just to get the top ball on! I couldn't believe that it was already over!
I sat up and Burt showed me how to clean and gave me instructions on the whole cleaning process. After that I jumped out of the chair and found the closest mirror and admired my new piercing. My mom and I walked out to the lobby and paid Burt and gave him a nice tip for the great piercing! After the piercing I didn't feel a thing... there was no discomfort or anything. That night when I got home my boyfriend came over. I wanted to show it to him but I knew that he wasn't to keen with the idea of my getting my navel done.
After a while I finally showed him he looked at if but didn't say much.
Now that I have had it pierced for 6 months my boyfriend loves it, I have never had any problems with the piercing, and everyone thinks it it the cutest thing ever.
So if you are thinking of getting your navel done, first read up on it, BME helped me a lot with any problems or dealing with parents and other people. Another thing make sure you plan the time of year you are gonna get it. I got mine in december so it was all healed for summer and looks great with my swimming suit. also if your parents say no make sure that you have a good information look around for the best place to get it done and if you don't feel comfortable in a place get out and find one you do I mean they are gonna stick a needle through your skin!!
