This is not my first experience with navel piercing nor is it my first with piercing more than once in the one sitting. My navel was first pierced just under two years ago in Byron Bay by Edmond and I had been considering a navel project ever since but I was putting it off until I was sure, as the first navel piercing hurt like hell, far more than what I was informed that it would. But what's a little pain?

On one of my later piercing endeavours I asked Daniel my now piercer (I'd since moved and therefore I could not get Edmond to finish my navel) about doing my navel project, He was happy to do it for me. I told him I'd be back in about two weeks.

Three weeks later when I had the money I rocked up to the studio. I talked to Daniel about placement and whether or not to use rings instead of bars initially. We settled on bars. He already knew of the placement I wanted. A pyramid type design. I signed the waver and was handed an aftercare sheet but declined it as I'd already had one, He agreed that I probably had enough of them at home. I was informed of how much it would cost me before the procedure was done. Being a regular has its perks; the two piercings in this one sitting would cost me $100 including jewellery.

Daniel asked if he could take some photos of my navel project after it was complete for the shops portfolio. I said yes that it was definitely ok with me, After all it wouldn't be the first time that he'd taken photos of the work that he'd done on me.

After he had gotten everything ready, He came out and called me in.

I ran ahead of him and jumped into the small room, Daniel had a shocked look on his face then laughed. 'You're the first person I have had that has run into the room like that' I have no reason to be nervous of being pierced any more. Daniel has pierced my body on more than 6 occasions so I felt completely at ease and I fully trust that he wont stuff anything up.

Daniel spent quite a while marking the placement, he marked one higher than the other and sent me out to look in the full length mirror. He asked which I preferred; I chose the left side placement that was in further than the right side. Daniel then fixed up the marks until they were perfect and told me to sit in the chair. I watched Daniel set up the needles etcetera. Every thing was sterile and he was wearing gloves throughout marking the placement and the procedure. Some idle chitchat was thrown into the mix and I was informed on a few more developments in the piercing world.

I layed back and Daniel placed the clamps in position. He then picked up the needle and reminded me to take a deep breath. I took my breath and as the needle was going through I must have sighed or something as Daniel said, "There's that familiar feeling" He was right it was there. I love that feeling.

After the needle was through I propped myself up with one hand behind my head to watch Daniel insert the Jewellery, not the most comfortable of positions. The Jewellery went in with no problem, and the pain factor with the piercing was minimal.

After Daniel cleaned the small amount of blood up. It was time for the left one. I leaned back against the chair again and when I'd noticed Daniel was ready after putting the clamps in place I took a deep breath and the needle went through. This time it felt different but it was a good pain. I again propped myself up so that I could watch Daniel insert the jewellery. As Daniel was pulling the plastic tube out and pushing the jewellery through at the same time. It just stoped mid way, We looked at each other then both declared that it was stuck. Why we both found this funny I don't know but we were laughing. After some gentle persistence it slipped the rest of the way through and he screwed the ball onto the bar and cleaned my whole navel area up.

I looked at my new navel in the full length mirror it didn't look sexy to me but I will admit it had definite spunk about it. Daniel asked again if it was ok to take some photos for the shop portfolio and again I agreed without hesitation. After the photos where taken and some more idle chitchat I thanked Daniel for his once again fantastic work and walked out to pay the man at the desk.

Each navel piercing felt different the very first was the most painful but these two were almost pain free. If you are considering a multiple navel project go for it. Out of every thing I've had done thus far It has to be what I love the most.
