Hi, I'm jaz, and I'm 24 years old. I've started thinking to get my belly button pierced since 2 years ago. I kept seeing girls with their belly button pierced and it seemed very appealing to me. I don't know why, but everytime I saw them,they amazed me. There is something about navel piercing that makes a girl look very attractive and sensuous.

I told him that I would like to get my navel pierced, and he loved the idea. I was getting really excited because I didn't know that he like it too. We were planning to do a bunch of stuff together and we decided to get it done in Canada, where I can be with him when it happen. So, on January 8, 2002, I got my belly button pierced. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to get it done that day. We were just walking on the street downtown, and we were passing by the Tatoo and Body Piercing Studio when he suddenly asked me if I want to get it done right then and there. I was kind of shocked but I also felt excited to had it done, so, I said yes.
I was pretty terrified because as much as I wanted to get my belly button pierced, I was also very afraid of the pain. See, I have never got any piercing that I can remember before. My mother got my ears pierced when I was only a tiny 7 days old baby, so, if there was any pain, I couldn't remember. I remember saying to myself, if I don't get it done right there, I would probably never get it done with. So,I just let myself walked in there with my boyfriend and get it over with.
I didn't know much about body piercing but I'm very lucky to have my boyfriend by my side the whole time. He's very into body piercing, so he knows a thing or two. He would only let me get my piercing at that studio because he knew that it was a proper place to get your body piercing.
The piercer was a guy with long hair and he got several piercing on his face. After he recommended us to get a 14ga ring for starter(he said it is better to start with a ring than barbell), he got me to sign an approval form.Then he led me to the back of the studio where all the piercings are done. He asked to take a look at my navel, and then he asked if I wanted to have my upper navel or lower navel to be pierced. I decided to go for the upper navel . He then put some alcohol on my navel and marked 2 dots for the piercing.After that, he clamped my navel skin on the 2 dots with the tool, and asked me to inhale. I couldn't look when it was time for him to insert the needle in, I was nervous but still tried to prepare to feel some pain. After a few seconds, he asked me to exhale, he put the ring it, and it was all done. I couldn't believe it! There wasn't any pain at all! There was only like a drop of blood coming out of it. The piercer guy wasn't really friendly, but he don e a good job. He handed me a pamphlet for after-care, we paid the ring and walked out of there.
I was very happy with my new belly button piercing. I followed all of the cleaning instructions from the pamphlet for the after-care. It hurts more for the first 2 weeks, and I tried to be very concious about it and tried not to accidently hit it because it can be pretty painful when you hit it. But one day about three weeks ago, I was careless and I lied on my belly (which is a not good thing to do). It got me worried when the top skin of the ring suddenly swollen and painful, after a nice gradually healing. So, I started to use oitment again after cleaning, which I stopped using after the tenth day. But now, it's ok, it's still healing. I'm not using the ointment anymore and I clean it once a day. I still found a little bit of hard-discharge on the ring every morning, but I'm not worry about that though. I can't wait until it's fully healed so that I can change to a different ring.
I feel wonderful with this new piercing and I love it! It makes me smile. I'm still in Canada, enjoying my stay. And I'm very sure that I will never forget this holiday. My belly button pierce is a great present from my boyfriend for this holiday.
