First of all let me start off by saying that I have always wanted my navel pierced...i think it is the most adorable piercing and i have always been a fan of all sorts of body mods...I also knew that my parents would never agree to it though seeing as that after i got my ears tripple pierced they told me i was done..(thats what they thought)..years have gone by and i have never brought up getting anything else pierced....untill this summer..

IL Back in June my mom and I were at the beach laying in the sun...i was looking at my belly and thinking how cute it would look with a ring in it...apparently my mom was thinking the same thing because she looked over and said "your belly button would look really cute with a ring in it"...well of course i agreed with her...however after she said that she decided that she would have to think about it and talk to my dad.....
June and half of July went by without her deciding yet..i did research (thanks BME)..talked to people who had it done..and kept getting back to my mom on what i was finding out..Than one day her best friend told us that she was bringing over her nephew for me to meet...neither one of us had met him before so my mom said that if he had his ear pierced i could get my navel pierced...when he came I ran outside and was dissapointed to see that he didnt have an earing in..later that night though he told me his ear was pierced..my mom heard him and she said well than i guess you are getting your navel pierced...we decided to go for my birthday which is in August.there was also a lot of other things that got in the way and i wanted to wait till the end of the summer..so basically all summer anyway who talked to me heard about how i was getting my navel pierced..some people didnt understand..some people were jealous..and some people thought it was just really cool
OK sorry that this is taking me forever to get to the piercing part but since this had to be long i just decided to have a lot of back ground info....
Thewhole car ride there i was so excited i just wanted to get there and get my navel pierced..if you are in the Chicago Area i totally recomend Jade Dragon Tattoo because it totally kicks ass and i am going to get my tattoo there when im 18...i picked out a silver ring because i heard that it heals better with rings..i am planning on getting a barbell soon though..after my mom signed some papers the piercer took me into a back room.
He told me to tuck my shirt into my bra he cleaned it really good which tickled...than he put the clamp on it which did not hurt at all i couldnt even feel it...i layed down in the dentist like chair thing and put my hands under my head...the whole thing had been really quick and he didnt talk much which made me glad because it kept me from getting nervous...he didnt even count to three or anything he just pierced me..which burned but it is totally tolerable...my reaction was "ahhhh..thats not that bad!" ..the minute i saw my wring i fell in love with it..its SOOOO cute!..i left Jade Dragon as quick as possible and layed in my car for 15 minutes untill the pain went away..When i got home i showed it to my brother and his friends and everyone thought it was cool...
It has been three weeks and the healing is going excellent..i have never had any problems and it has never hurt since that first day..
hmm..they tell me this is not long enough so i guess that i didnt have to try and shorten up my story....for after care i suggest using sea salt soaks..they feel so good and speed up the healing process..i also took three 50mg Zinc tablets a day for two weeks because i heard that it speeds up the healing but all it did was make me sick to my stomach..i dunno you can give it a try though...i wash it twice a day in the shower with antibacterial soap..but that is it besides the salt soaks because i dont want to over clean it..
OK sorry that this was so long and pointless...but if you want to get your navel pierced i say go for it because the pain is nothing compared to how cute your stomach will look with a piercing in it..
