My two BEST FRIENDS went and had their belly buttons pierced in March and I totally wanted mine done too. But of course my mom went on and on about how my aunt had hers done and how it got infected and how she didnt want me to go through that until I was older. i begged and begged but my mom wouldnt change her decision. But she kept her decision a permanent NO NO NO! I was mad but I didnt push it.

She went with my other friend and got my friends aunts permission to do it. She felt guilty for having to hide it from her mom and dad so she took it out. She regreted it afterward but it closed up quickly and she couldnt get it back in. She knew her parents would've freaked out if they found out she did it.
A little over a week ago my friend finally convinced her dad to let her get it done. She was so happy!And this time she didnt have to hide it from her parents! She had it done and told me all about the experience. She said that it didnt hurt at all and that she was going to help me convice my mom to say yes so I could get mine done.
It only took 3 days after that to finally convince my mom to let me get my belly button pierced. I was so excited but kind of scared that it would hurt a lot even though my friend said it was painless. I tossed and turned the night before because I was sooo scared. I really wanted it done but I hate pain. I guess I'm just a big wimp!!!
THe next day my mom told me she called the place and they told her to bring me in anytime. I was ready and I was so excited! I was finally getting my belly button pierced! I couldnt beleive it! So anyways my mom took me in at around 6:00 pm. I went in and saw a friend of mine in there. He was going to get his tongue pierced! I chose the ring I wanted. It was a 14 gage barbell. It had a pretty amethyst color jewel on the bottom. Elka ( the one who was going to do it) went and got it sterilized.
While my ring was sterilizing my friend was getting his tongue pierced. He came out with his mom and girlfriend and showed it to me. It was a little bloody and I got scared to get my navel done.
Finally the ring was ready and I was called into the room. She told me to lift up my shirt. Then she used some disinfecting stuff and cleaned my navel really well. She marked where the piercing would look the best and told me to lay down on this dentist looking chair. I layed down and prepared myself for the terrible pain. She asked me if I wanted her to just do it or count to three. I was like ummmmmmmmmmmmm JUST DO IT. And she shoved the bar thing through my button. She didnt use a clamp. I felt a sharp sting and then she put the ring in. Then I looked down and there it was! I was so happpy. There was like a little tiny tiny tiny drop of blood and that was it. It was a little sore but nothing to die about.
I went to volleyball camp the next day and played volleyball with it in for the next five days!!! Everyone said I was crazy but it didnt hurt at all. It didnt even make a difference in how I played either! I was so happy! The only thing I was afraid of was to get hit in the stomach. But nothing happend!!!
I'm home now and its healing up nicely. My mom thinks its really cute and I love it. I really recommend getting it to anyone who wants it. I'm only 14 and I have mine done now. I absolutely love it to death. And all my friends think it is really cute! I keep it clean with bactine and I use antibacterial soap in the shower.I am very paranoid about it getting infected so I dont let anyone touch it except for my mom and my friend who has hers done. I cant wait til its all healed up so can put in more really cute ones in! My mom really wants me to get a hoop ring in it. So I think thats what I will get next.
Both of my friends like theirs and they are so happy that I have mine done now! Out of the three of us none of them have gotten infected. We are going to get matching friendship rings later.
