On October 22, 2000 I finally got my mom to allow me to get my navel pierced. We were driving around Brockport, NY looking for places. We stopped at a few places but I didn't like the way they looked - they didn't look sanitary or experience. Finally we found Extreme Graphix. My mom filled out the forms and I gave the guy the ring I wanted to use and he sterilized it for me. After it was sterilized he brought me back into a room and i sat in a chair and he sat on a stool in front of me. He put on his gloves and took out his equipment. He cleaned my bellybutton first. He marked two dots and asked if it was good. I said yes and he put the clamp on. I found the clamp more painful than the piercing itself. So he explained that he would count to three. I would breath in on one and breath out on two. Then on three he would pierce me. I said ok and closed my eyes. He counted to three and next thing I knew it was over. It didn't hurt at all - I was very surprised. I am sensitive to pain and I didn't even flinch. He cleaned it off again and he took me out to the front again to pay. Then he explained cleaning and everything. He suggested that I use antibacterial soap. He told me not to use peroxide or Neosporin. He gave us a business card and we left. Walking to the car I started to feel faint and dizzy. Then everything started getting cloudy and I fell into my mom but she caught me luckily (or else I would've been on the ground). I got into the car and took some asprin and the dizziness went away. I think it was just my body's reaction to the piercing - I've heard of others who felt faint afterwards. But I had no problems later.

It's pussed a few times but it wasn't infected really bad. I didnt have to take the ring out or anything.I've changed my ring twice and I am very happy with it. I have had a barbell ever since I got it pierced and I think barbells are better than rings. I dont think they get infected as easily and they dont get caught on things as much as rings. Though, the only downside of barbells is that it's harder to clean. To clean my bellybutton ring I use Dial handsoap mixed with water. I use a Q-tip so that I can get in the small areas. It works well. The week after I got it pierced it was bleeding a bit but that's expected. Then after that there were little crusties but thats normal too. I just recently changed my ring in March to a star navel shield. Beware of those.. it hurt my bellybutton. I dont know if it would hurt anyone else, but it really hurt me. I went back a few days later to get it changed again to the ring I have now. It's a bent barbell with blue balls on the ends. I will be changing it again soon to a barbell with a small star on the end. This star is smaller than the other one so I hope this one doesn't hurt like the other one did. But anyway.. I love my bellybutton ring and I highly recommend Extreme Graphix to anyone in the area. I am hoping to get my navel pierced again on the bottom as soon as I find a place to do it. I went back to Extreme Graphix but the girl that was there didn't feel comfortable doing it. So I've been looking around. If anyone knows a place that will pierce the bottom of your navel in the Western NY area, let me know at sweet_cheeks03@hotmail.com.
I am also hoping to get my tongue pierced as soon as I can convince my dad to let me. I would like my lip, nose, and eyebrow pierced as well but my parents are totally against it, so I have to wait 2 years until I'm 18. I'm upset about that, but I can't do anything about it. I am also hoping to get a tattoo soon too - I can't wait for that even though I know its going to hurt like hell.
For all my future piercings I will go to Extreme Graphix because I am very pleased with the outcome of my bellybutton. They were very sterile and professional. They were really nice about everything too. The guy that pierced me helped to calm me down which was really nice of him because I was so scared. Well, thats the story of my navel piercing! I can't wait until I can put some more expiernces up here - hopefully good ones!
