One day in February two years ago I went to the mall to buy a pair of mary janes to go with the cute new plaid skirt i had just bought and ended up at a piercing party near Boston. I was in this store called Gadzooks because i was told they had some cute shoes (they did) when this cute random hardcore boy came up to me and invited me to his friends piercing party in some town i had never heard of near Boston. It seemed kind of sketchy to me, but he told me I could bring as many friends as I wanted so I called my friend Jess and asked her if she wanted to go with me. She agreed that it seemed weird that this kid wanted me to go with him to chill in his friends basement when I didn't even know his name yet, but the promise of cheap piercings was enough to win us over. She arrived at the mall about a half an hour later and we left to go to the party.

We went inside and down to the basement were there were about 30 kids chillin watching A Nightmare Before Christmas. Adam, the boy who invited me, introduced me to everyone and I instantly felt right at home. I sat down on the floor next to a really hot hardcore boy with a ton of mods, including a very rad split tongue.
After about a half an hour the piercer called me over and asked me what I wanted to get done. As stupid as this sounds I hadn't even thought about what I wanted to get done, so I went and looked at some books and magazines to get an idea. I already my tongue, my web under my tongue, my navel, my ears 9 times, all stretched to 12 and 14 gauge, and my nose, nothing too unique. I decided to get my nape done and I picked out my jewelry. I went and sat back down and told my friend what I had decided to get. Jess, not being very into mods, flipped out and told me that it was the stupidest thing she had ever heard and that she was going to beat the shit out of me if I got that done. She sat there pointing out all the reasons why I shouldn't get it and eventually convinced me. I then went back to the books and decided to get the bottom of my navel pierced so that I could eventually get it done on all 4 sides.
I went back over to the jewelry and picked out a curved barbell with hematite balls to match the one in my top hole. The piercer told me it was going to be about another 45 minutes before he got to me and I should go back and chill and watch movies.
I went back and everyone was watching A Clockwork Orange, my all time favorite movie. I squeezed onto the couch and got comfy and chilled for about an hour before I got called in to get pierced. I had already had my navel pierced once and it wasn't bad, so I was expecting this one to be a breeze as well. He cleaned and marked me up and I laid down on the massage table he had set up. He asked me if I was ready, I was, and then he counted to three. As soon as he got to three I felt a sharp pain and the usual surge of adrenaline. I hadn't been expecting it to hurt, but boy was I wrong. It hurt A LOT more than my first hole, I looked down and my navel was filled with blood. None of my other piercings had bled like that so I was like "what the fuck... did you fuck up or something??" he said no and that it was normal and cleaned me up.
Expecting the worst I got up and looked in the mirror. It actually looked really good once all the blood was gone. He told me to wash it with soft soap in the morning when I took a shower, and then put bactine on it at night. My previous piercer had always made it very clear NOT to use bactine so I asked him if he was sure and told him that my old piercer told me that bactine would dry it out and that wasn't good. He told me that drying it out actually everyone he knows piercings to heal much faster.
Seeing as though my previous piercings had taken a long time to heal I decided to take his advice and see what happened. It ended up healing insanely fast, and came out rad.
