Well, here is where I get to tell the world of BME freeqs out there about the wonderfulness of Absolution Body Piercing Studio, and the great people that work there, so I will attempt to make this as long as I can and hopefully hold the attention span of all you people out there interested in having your bellybuttons pierced, either just the one standard one, or more.
At A Glance Author Supervixen Contact supervixen_nz@hotmail.com Artist Quill Studio Absolution Location chch NZ I've had all my piercing done by these guys. Well apart from the stupid gun piercings I've had done to my ears. You know...needles through the lobe of your ear is actually quite erotic! Quill told me I'd have to pay extra if I came, so I had to focus on something else. hehehe..
Anyways, that's all quite beside the point, I'm here to tell you of my double belly episode. Had my belly pierced once before, with a ring, the thing was just a constant hassle, and ended up growing out, so much so that you could see the metal underneath my skin, truly unpleasant. So I had it removed and a couple of years later got a few other piercings, caught the bug again and decided to give it another go, but this time, I decided to go for 2 barbells, one in the usual bellybutton place, and the other, a surface piercing underneath my bellybutton, to form a triangle. I have a habit of deciding what I want to do and researching of course, and then just bowling on in there and demanding I be pierced with no prior appointment, which usually works really well.
This day, I went in on a Saturday, about 20 minutes before they closed. I was seen to about 15 minutes later. Those guys are great I tell you! So anyways, Quill asks me if I'm ready and a woman in the shop looks at me, standing there with my ex partner and my two preschool children and says "are you having two done at once?" And I nod my head, and she looks at me like I'm crazy, I think about telling her about my ear episode and decide to just smile instead. Quill takes me out the back and laughs manically when I tell David that he likes to hurt me after David tells me how good he is, and he marks me up, I love that, the head cocking to one side, the little dots placed so precisely on your skin, it's all so intricate and exciting. So I lie down, and he readies himself and starts with my surface piercing, underneath my bellybutton, free hand, I deep breathe my way through it and think.."not so bad..." and it's finished! Then he clamps my bellybutton and begins on the top one...more deep breathing.... I look down and he's grinning inanely at me and sliding the needle through really slow. He goes "I could have done that much faster" hehe, Quill is great I tell you! So I thank him for so thoughtfully thinking about me and look down. He pokes me a few times just for good measure and I say "is that crooked?" so he pokes me again and I'm cringing and going "okay! okay! it's not then!! Don't poke me!!" The guy is a sadist! He loves hurting me, but that's cool, I'll admit it freely, I like it when he does. It is crooked, but I like it, it makes it more personal and it's kinda kooky, so I pull myself up and I'm ready to leave again. Have a bit of a laugh with him, and wander out looking a little spacey and feeling truly exhilarated and 4 holes better off.
It's been about 2 months now, and I'm having troubles with my slowly pierced normal bellybutton, the top hole has manky days, and bled underneath again today, it doesn't hurt though, and I'm not expecting too much from it just yet. It has good days and bad days I spend as much time as I can holding the bottom piercing so that the top one can breathe and sitting in the sun letting it dry out. Tea tree oil is great too. The surface piercing is fantastic, the entry hole is a little red, but the other side is perfect. And I just love the clear bar..it looks great. When I wear something that doesn't hide it, it's a real attention getter. I walked through the mall one day and people were nearly falling over things turning their heads to look at it, I guess it's not that common here. What I really like is when I show it to someone and they go "Ohh my god! How many are in there?!?!?!" There are only two, but I guess the four balls throw them off.
I haven't really had any troubles with it, despite the fact that I've heard surface piercings reject easily. I'm having more trouble with the top one than my surface piercing. But like I said, it's only two months so far. I'm sure it will be fine come next summer. (yes, it's nearly winter here) Anyway, if you're from NZ or more importantly, chch, go to Absolution, David's got over ten years experience and Quill is great value. They're really helpful, know what they're doing and are really good for a laugh. Not to mention they have the added bonus of being too gorgeous for their own good! Or maybe that's supposed to be mine. *laughs!*
