Hi! I finally got my belly pierced five days ago and I am SOOOOOO Happy!!! I have just dreamed about getting it for so long that I can't believe it's actually done! In fact, I am sitting here admiring it as I sit here typing at the computer.

I always have thought that this piercing is beautiful, and I have spent many long hours at the mall, admiring the body jewelry that would enhance my tan tummy.

A lot of my friends have them as sort of a "trendy" thing, but for me it is more a personal thing. However, it does look rather nice, and it is one of the more asthetically pleasing piercings in my opinion.

Anyway, back to the piercing. Since I was about 12, I have thought that the navel piercing is the most beautiful piercing available. Well, in about January I had finally realized that the time had come for me to have my belly pierced, so I asked my mom. Her immediate response was NO! I explained to her that I was mature enough, yada yada yada but she wouldn't relent. I told her how I had browsed through all the piercing experiences and aftercare info. on bmezine but she still wouldn't listen.

After about 2 months, my dad decided that I should be allowed to get one and *thankfully* got my mom to let him take me.

He had a few business calls to finish up, and that took about 10 minutes. I was SOOOOO nervous and excited. We got into the car and I was shaking with my palms getting sweaty, rethinking the whole thing. I had never done anything like this before and I was really worried about the pain.

So when we got to the parlor, and I was still shaking (I was SUPER nervous) and I handed the man my passport (age-verification) and paid, and after my dad signed the waiver he led me into the room, and I laid down on one of those examining tables that doctors use. So then he rubbed betadine on my stomach and marked my stomach with a blue pen. Then he put on his latex gloves and got out the needle, the ring and the clamp, all of which were sealed and new (except for the clamp). So I was laying there, having second thoughts, when I felt the pinch of the clamps on. Then, all of the sudden-BAM-I felt this awful pinching sting of the needle-worse than any shot-and screamed out *$@# and my dad looked at me dissaprovingly. I don't often swear, but he understood since he watched the whole thing.

I thanked the piercer (I feel bad I don't know his name, but he's the owner) and he went behind the counter and got me the aftercare sheet. He told me how important that I clean it TWICE a day, not once, not three times, TWICE. He said that two much or too little will interfere with the healing process.

When I got home, my little brother ran out of the house to see it. "Wow!" he said, "It's really pretty!". His friend said it looked freaky, but what does he know? My mom was standing across the street talking to one of her friends, acting like she didn't notice, until I walked up to her and smiled. She said "You didn't" and I said "I did!" She rolled her eyes and I lifted up my shirt and showed her. She said to her friend that she had absolutely nothing to do with it and that it was all my dad's business. Her friend just shrugged and said it was cute.

That night, I was climbing into bed and as I layed down on my bed stomach first I had a shooting pain. I still have trouble (5 days later) laying on my tummy. So a word to all who are thinking about getting one-make sure you are prepared to not lean on your belly.

Now, two days later, my tummy is still a tad red around the hole, and there is clear/opaque excretion from the hole, but it doesn't hurt or anything. I clean it twice a day with Hibiclens (over the counter at your local pharmacy) and apply neosporin 3 times daily.

I plan on replacing the CBR (captive bead ring) with a ruby black titanium bananabell. Or maybe a UV reactive one. The possibilities are endless.

Needless to say, I am incredibly happy with the results!!! If you are thinking about getting it done, I definitly suggest it! It is worth the few seconds of pain and the daily cleaning ritual (and the money-about $30) to have a sexy, unique and personalized tummy!!!
