I wanted to get it done for a long time. I thought I just have to get up the strength to do it. Maybe if I just sucked it up and did it I would be able to.

The standing rule was that if you get it done without our permission then it gets ripped out. Not what I wanted. It took me a couple months to talk them into letting me get my navel pierced. I had to wait until my birthday though. That was like month away and I really didn't want to wait that long, but I had to.
When the month was finally over with I begged them to let me get it done a bit early and I did it.
My friend Autumn wanted to go with me because ear piercings never phased me. She saw me get my cartilage done and I didn't even make a noise. So she came over. I called local studios to see where the cheapest and cleanest place was. Our local radio station was always talking about Skin Funk. Most of their DJ's had gotten something done there. I called and $50.00 was the price. Not bad so that is where I was going to go. I yelled out to my dad and asked him when we could go. He said it wasn't going to be for awhile. So I was nervous almost all day.
We had to go pick up my mother from her friend's house. Both of them came to the studio. So did my dad's friend. So all of us headed off to the studio. Making jokes on how afraid of needles and blood I am. Everyone was laughing.
We got to the studio and I was kinda shaking. I was so nervous. I have a severe fear of needles and blood makes me sick. When we got in there I saw that it was a very small shop. Not much in there. Playboys lined the waiting tables. There was two greyhound dogs. They had their ears pierced with dice barbells. They were almost as tall as I was. They just lay in front of the door.
Well I talked to the guy as my dad ran to the store to take out money from the ATM. When he got back we signed the papers and picked out jewelry. By now I was so nervous I kinda felt sick and I was shaking. Autumn kept asking me if I was ok. I don't think she liked seeing me like that. Everyone gathered around the chair. I laid back. I could hear metallic clang as Dice washed and clean the equipment to make sure it was sterile. Then he made two dots on my stomach with a sharpie after cleaning it. Then he took the clamps and clamped my skin together. Well at least the clamps didn't hurt and if they didn't then maybe I was going to be fine. I heard more noise as he took the needle out I made Autumn hold my hand. I knew that if I made any noise she was going to get a kick out of it. I felt the needle touch my skin. Then jam through my skin. I liked the feeling. It wasn't bad. It didn't hurt but it did feel a little odd. I made a face and Autumn started to laugh. I felt the jewelry go through. I felt Dice tighten it up and tell me that I was all done. Everyone looked at me and asked me if it had hurt. I told them no. My mom's friend told me I was no fun because I hadn't screamed. She said "Oh yeah well move it." So I took it and moved it a bit. I thought she was going to puke. It was funny to see.
I fixed my pants and got up. I thought I was going to feel pain shoot up into my stomach but I didn't. The only difference is that I felt a little tug. I asked the guy how to wash it. I was told to use bactine a lot and put neosporin on it. I had some at home so I didn't have to stop at the store to get some. I was getting nervous about siting down in the car. It was like a half an hour ride home. I went out to the car and gently sat down. It didn't hurt at all.
It's almost four months later. It feels great. It is slightly infected. The trick is not to clean it too much but to clean it enough. It feels odd to take it out. There is like a hard bump in the middle where the bar goes when you put it in. I got it to play with it and it was well worth the 50 dollars to get it done. I think anyone should get it done. It isn't painful and I have never seen an ugly one.
