THIS IS JUST MY STORY, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE ACTUAL PIERCING THEN READ BELOW!!!!!

I'm a 14 year old girl and I've wanted my bellybutton pierced for a LONG time!! But I am so scared of needles (I MEAN TERRIFIED), and I'm a Christian (so it's not my (so called)"character type", but I don't think it's wrong, unless it turns into body mutilation) oh anyway, back to the story!!! So I finally got up enough nerve to take the plunge when I was going to fly to visit my sister for my 14th b-day.
I even searched the internet for more info, and found this site. I also found a site that sells a bunch of cool rings, barbells, and banana bells for everywhere you can think of (coolpiercings.com) and it didn't have a lot of gross pictures and stuff so now that I have my bb pierced I'm going to buy some stuff for my hole!!
So next I had to ask my parents, and well my dad would say no (I did talk to him about body piercings one time and I looked up some verses in the Bible to do with it, but he still didn't like um. I'll give some references to verses at the end of my story.) so I just asked my mom (she's great at keeping secrets. especially fun ones) and she said no:( :( Well later on that day my sister calls and asked me if I wanted to get my bellybutton pierced when I was going to visit her:) I was like "I was just asking mom that!"! And my mom was right there so I told her what just happened and she said I could get it done with my sister!!! YAY! Well... My sister told my dad (she told me she would never tell him and then turns right around and tells him.:( (that's ok I still love her) So now that my dad knew I was planning on getting it done he'd never let me. I figured I'd just get it done when I turned 18.
SO one day my mom asked me if I really wanted it that bad and if I did she'd take me to get it done!!!! She's so sweet!!! So of course I said yes!! And so we made an appointment for the very next day!!! And it would be our little secret!!!
THE BIG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We live in a small town that doesn't have body piercing shops so we went to a place that is an hours drive away. The whole way there I wasn't nervous at all. But when we finally pulled into the drive way I was starting to shake and my mom was like "are you sure you want to do this?" "if you want to leave, we can" I was determined to actually do it though. We walked into the place and there was this lady there (she must have been 20 or something) with a eyebrow ring and later she told me she had her lip, tongue, and nipples pierced (ew). She asked me if I was the one with the appointment and I was like "yes" and then she introduced me to the piercer. They were both very intimidating. But nice. Rick (the piercer) told me he had to get his stuff ready, and while I was waiting I had to fill out some paper work. Then he popped his head out the door and told me he was ready. I was so nervous and I was shaking really bad!!!
I went in and sat in the chair, my mom by my side. He had all this stuff laying on the table (clamps, cleaner stuff, ring, and of course the needle) I told him not to tell me what he was doing while he was doing it, just to tell me when I was done. He said ok and marked me, cleaned me, clamped me, and YOU GOT IT pierced me.
You know how a lot of people say it's like a hard pinch? Well I don't think so at all. A pinch hurts on both sides of the skin. A pierce is just pressure on one side of the skin. Then it goes thru. NO PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well maybe at one part but I'll get to that in a second.
The Procedure: The piercer cleans you, then marks the in and out spots, puts the clamps on (he said he likes to make the clamps really tight cuz it makes you focus on them instead of the needle. the clamps don't hurt at all, but they are tight) then inserts the needle, puts the ring or barbell in (I had to get a ring (:a silver ring with a black ball:) for my first piece of jewlery. I really wanted a barbell, but for my first change I'm gonna get a silver barbell ), puts the ball in (this was the most painful part of the whole piercing process because he pulled the ring a little and it hurt) and then you pay and leave. And then it hurts. Just a little stinging, NOTHING BIG. Just a little sting that lasts about a hour.
AFTERWARDS
I just got it done today. AND I LOVE IT, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!
If you have a cute belly then It looks great!!! And the pain is EXTREMELY minimal.
