The Navel Piercing From Hell

Really it's just another navel piercing story, it just has a really bad twist to it. It was my first time getting something other than my ears pierced, and not what I expected.

Well I had been wanting to get my navel pierced for a long time and I had just turned 18. What do ya know, just old enough to go get pierced. I had talked and talked about it, I just didn't have enough "balls" to do it. So one night when my boyfriend (now hubby) were out doing bad things, that I really don't care to talk about anymore, I decided I was going to go ahead and get it done. So I pick the first shop we come to. Duh, stupid mistake. I walk into the shop and ask exactly how much. Good, I had enough. Now why they ever decided that it was ok to pierce my I have no clue. I was clearly, a little messed up. Ok more than a little because I was really nervous about it. So I pick out my jewlery, and I chose a little black ring.

First I watch another girl get pierced first. My god, she didn't even flinch. Good, that means it won't hurt much, right? haha. Well she was done and now it's my turn. First let me tell you I am pretty sure the guy just wanted a cheap thrill. I was wearing big baggy pants that hung way below my navel and he asked my to unbutton them. I was wearing a very small thong. I didn't know he was going to ask me to do that or I wouldn't have worn them. Plus I really think the guy had some major nerve asking me to do that in front of my boyfriend. Anyway, I grabbed Jason's hand cause I'm a big wuss, and he cleaned my belly button. I think he just used alcohol. I have never been cleaned with alcohol since, wich tells me, BIG MISTAKE. Ok back to the story. I closed my eyes here so I really have no clue what kind of needle he used. Then he clamped my navel, he poked the needle in and the clamps slipped. So he had to take the needle out of my navel, and clamp it again. Then he had a hold of my belly button tight enough this time and shoved the needle through. Then he slipped in the ring. He never even told me to take in a deep breath so, by this time I was white. Next thing I know I am passed out. Wich is really wierd because I could hear everything, I just couldn't see or move. I even felt Jason button my pants back up for me. I guess I laid there for about 20 mins. or so they said, just passed out in the chair. When I woke up, I just remember about 5 people standing over me looking. They made me stay there for about another 10 mins. to make sure I was ok. Then when I got up out of the chair I almost fell down. Good thing Jason was there to catch me. Oh and by the way there were no gloves during this whole thing. I was so stupid.

After all this, Jason pays for me, picks me up and takes me out to the car,where he ends up laying the seat back all the way for me so I can lay down again. He's such a sweety. No wonder I ended up marring him. After I get home I realize that no one even told me how to take care of it! So I end up doing everything wrong like putting neosporin on it and covering it with a band-aid. Wich made it take even longer to heal.

Needless to say I am still alive today, and still have it in as a reminder to myself to make sure I pick a good piercer. I have also had my tongue and lip pierced since then. Both of them were a better experience. Very profesional people. I also went with one of my friends to get her navel pierced a couple weeks ago. I made sure that I picked out the shop and piercer for her because I would never want someone else to go through that. Plus I got my lip done at the same time and I wasn't going to just any place again. She did really well and the piercer was great. It's a nice piercing to have though. Go ahead and get it done if your thinking about it. I promise you it won't be as bad as my expirence. With all that said, pick your piercer WISELY. Don't ever hesitate to leave a shop if you feel uncomfortable and ask as many questions as you have, a good piercer dosen't mind answering them.

I am also considering on becoming a body piercer now, so I can rid the world of crappy piercers like that. ;) Hopefully, I will get to pierce lots of people and put their minds at ease about the process, and never will I go for a cheap thrill on people. That's not my style. So maybe in a few years or so, when I become really good, you can come see me and get you navel pierced.
