My navel finds a friend at 13

Hello! My name is Natasha, I am a 13-yr. Old female and I got my navel pierced! First off, I hate needles; I yell and scream literally at my doctor when he tries to give me a needle! I have wanted my bellybutton pierced for what has seemed like forever! When I was 7, I saw it on Madonna and loved it, but never thought more of it. Last September, when I was 12, I asked my Mom if I could get my belly pierced. I never actually got a NO from her, just a resounding MAYBE for a year! In about February or March, I just wouldn't shut about it, but it still did not work. This summer, I worked really hard on trying to get it done. My parents know that I don't just want my navel pierced on a whim and not for fashion. I had read all the stories on BME (thanx everyone who contributed!) and done A LOT of research (always a good way to convince ur parents is to be very well informed)

At the end of July, my Mom and I went for a consultation at Black Sun Studio with Pierre. We spoke with him for an hour, and this is THE BEST PLACE IN MONTREAL to get pierced, really honestly, it is so clean and the people know what there doing, they have been piercing for 10 years and I really trusted and felt comfortable with them. But, still my Mom said maybe!

My mom said she needed time to think and wanted a month! I said no; I could give her a week! In a week she didn't know, she needed another week, this went on for a month the time she wanted! Then she said she had to speak to my Dad and he wanted time to think! The next morning, my Mom said she didn't care and that if my Dad said yes I could get one! He obliged! But still neither of them like them. My Dad thought there disgusting and my Mom didn't know why I would want to inflict such pain on myself!

I made an appointment for Tuesday, August 22, 2000; I brought my best friend with me and let me tell u I was nervous as all hell! When we got there, my Dad saw my piercer, Azl, very tattooed and said that there was absolutely no way he would let me have that guy stick a needle in me! So we talked to Jessica the girl at the front (very very very nice) and Azl (hes great) and decided that I wasn't going to do it!=(

The next day, my parents decided that they didn't want me to do it after all! I was really pissed! For the next 2 days I was miserable and not very nice. On Friday, my Mom told me to call Black Sun because I was going to get it done and my Dad said it was OK! YAY!But, first she gave a really looong lecture on the way I had been acting and that if I ever did that again I would be in really big trouble! I was still walking on air happy though my Mom gave me the lecture.

I called Black Sun and made an appointment for the next day, August 26, Saurday, at one. Though my Dad knew we were going, I did not want him coming with us! The next day, we went and picked up my best friend, Daniel, and headed for black Sun.All the way there, the car ride felt like a roller coaster! It's by appointment only and they reserve an hour for each customer, that's how much they care about their clients! My Mom and I signed the release form and waited about 5 minutes. By this time I was SOOOOOOOOOOO anxious and excited!

Azl came out and we talked for a few minutes, we didn't really have any questions because we had come for a consultation. Black Sun does only piercing with is really great! I had brought my teddy bear, Radcliffe with me, kind of as a joke, because when I was in fourth grade I got my tooth through my lip and he was with me, strange, anyways, back to the story. We went into the room and we talked and my best friend made me laugh a lot! I asked him as a joke if Radcliffe could get his ear pierced after me and Azl replied "if u want to when ur don't I can do him" really seriously!

We chose my jewelry, the smallest 14 gauge ring they had with a blue bead that in the middle is sort of iridescent white.

He put on gloves and changed them about a million times after, really he changed his gloves so many times, I couldn't even count!! And marked my belly up and cleaned my bellybutton really thoroughly which felt really weird and asked if I was ready and made sure I had eaten before, which of course I had! He put the clamps on, which I honestly did NOT feel at all, really and truly I did not feel them! My mom sat right outside them room. He had me hold them while I got on the padded bed and then took them back. I put one hand above my head and the other held my friends hand, I kept on talking and Azl asked me to just breathe but all I could do is keep saying: ur gonna put the needle in now aren't u! Finally, I shut up and told him not to tell me when the needle was gonna be slipped in and then I felt this jab that subsided in about 1 second, and I said OW, but not from pain, just from the shock of actually doing it!He turned around to get the ring and I sat up on my elbows and saw the needle in my stomach, it was so cool! Then he asked my to lie back down and slipped the ring in and then the bead, I didn't feel and tugging or anything while he put the ring in, I didn't feel anything! I looked at it and immediately fell in love with it! He cleaned it and made sure I was all right. I got up and thanked him profusely! He then asked me if I wanted Radcliffe's ear pierced and I said yes and he got out a new needle and new clamps and everything to pierced my teddy! I chose a tie-dyed blue and purple ring and an orange bead for him and Azl did it free of charge!

I got out front and showed every one there my belly and my teddys ear everyone loved it! I paid 65$ for the piercing, its more expensive because it's the best place in town and 14$ for cleaning products and gave Azl a $15 tip because he was so great and gave by teddy a free piercing!

That night it bled a little and the Monday at school it bled a little but other than that it was great! IT has been 2 weeks and I have had no problems! I clean it in the morning with Baxedine and at night with salt water, it's a little red around the top hole and I get crusties a little but I am happy when I get crusties because it means the body is healing! J
