~I have always loved piercings and had always wanted my belly button pierced to start off with! I have 3 holes in one ear and 4 in the other (one at the cartlidge)so i was ready to move on to better..body piercings!! My mom of course was not to fond of the idea and had said no several times, or she would say "Well you can get it when you make straight A's" or "if your boyfriend comes and goes with you" which he didnt mind doing but that was kind of a hassle because at the time he didnt live near me little things like that..but i kept asking her..i was determined to get it pierced!!

Studio 4:20 Shop Location Myrtle Beach, SC ~So in July of 1999 right after I had turned 15 we were at the beach for 2 weeks, everything happens in Myrtle Beach there are tons of Piercings shops..so i asked her yet another time and she said "you really want that done?" and i said HELL YEAH!! so she said well i'll take you to get it done, find out where a shop is. All my friends had their tongues pierced and one of my friends that lived down there had gotten his tongue and nipple pierced so he knew a good place to get it pierced. (he said the nipple hurt really bad, and he doesnt reccomend that one!!hehe)
~Sooo my mom and i went to the 4:20 shop..the name totaly fit the shop..as soon as we walked in we saw a whole cabinet full of bongs the name wasnt all the reassuring to me...i was already very nervous! i was having second thoughts but i knew that if i didnt get it done then ..then i might not be able to until i was 18 so i walked over to the guy almost hoping that he wouldnt be able to do it, but he said sure come over here..and he showed me all the rings and picked one out..and i walked behind this curtain type thing and sat in a chair, im really glad my mom went with me because shes a nurse and she made sure that he was using like new needles and she checked everything out while i just kinda sat there with my eyes closed!
~He washed off the area round where he was gonna pierce it and put clamps on my skin, those kinda hurt!! by this time i was like scared to death and i could here a girl who was talkin to my mom and she was sayin how it was the worst thing she had ever done, I dont know what she was talking bout!! cause i love mine! Anyways he put the needle through and it hurt..but it only lasted for like..10 seconds and he put the ring in and moved it round..that was not fun at all! but after that i was done..it stung for like 20 mins after that but nothin major. Dispite the name the shop was really nice, it was clean and the guy was pretty kewl ..slightly weird but nice! But it wasnt like most piercing places..this was like inside a hemp store..or just like normaly beach store that had like hemp..jewelry, bongs..lighters all that kinda stuff and it the piercing part was just off to the side in a corner, but it was still pretty kewl!
~The healing process for naval piercings was not a fun one, mine was the same as all the other girls i have talked to that got it..for the first like 3-4 months there were small bumps on the top and bottom of the piercing like where the holes were and they would get like very icky and stuff would come out..it was sometimes kinda painful but in the end it was well worth the pain!
~I strongly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting it pierced! If your my age and your mom wont let ya..dont give up! keep askin and if you have to then wait until your 18! All my guy friends love it and so does my boyfriend!!! Its so cute! But now im working on gettin my tongue pierced!! But when you do go..make sure your parents dont care..it makes things so much easier and most places wont do it without their signature..make sure the shop is clean and the needles are new and make sure you feel comfortable with the person who is doing the piercing!! AND..make sure you take care of the new piercing like they say to, if not it can lead to a painful not so fun expeirence and you wont get to enjoy the wonders of Piercing!!!
