Ever since I got my hood pierced, I have been dieing to get another piercing done. Although my piercer told me that I had the anatomy for a triangular piercing, I wanted to wait longer for the hood to heal before I got that done. I don't think that I have the face to get an eye brow or nose pierced, and my nipples are just way to sensative to get them done, so I figured that my navel was my best bet. Some of the girls at work were also talking about getting some piercings done, so we decided that after work one day we would all go down and do it together.

We decided to go back down to Body Works, where I had gotten my hood done, and another girl had gotten her tongue pierced. Although they are alittle bit more pricey than the other studios in the area, Body Works has the best reputation, and I would never get a piercing done by anyone else. Well, we arrived there right on time, but since there were so many of us, we were there awhile before we finally got started. 2 of the girls wanted to go first, so the rest of us sat back in the waiting area and tried to listen for screams *grins* After what seemed like forever Jodi came out with her eye brow freshly done and a big grin on her face. She looked beautiful. I took one look at her, grabed her hand and said I'm next, and pulled her into the room with me.

I had already picked out a curved bar with gem balls as my jewlery, and David, the piercer, went to go get it sterlized. I sat down in the chair, and noticed how bad I was shaking. Jodi was laughing at me, and I had to realize how stupid it was since I had already had a piercing done. Finally David came back with the jewlery all sterile, and we chatted for alittle bit as he set up his little table with the needle and stuff. He wiped off my stomach and inspected my navel. He said that I had a really small navel, but that it should still be ok to do the piercing, and he marked the spot where he was going to do the piercing. He asked me if the placement was ok, but I didn't even bother to look since I had enough faith in him that he was a professional and knew what he was doing.

He then had me lay the rest of the way back, and he put the clamps around my navel. Some people have said that the clamps are uncomfortable, but I really didn't notice them. I closed my eyes, and David told me to take a deep breathe, and I knew my time was near. As soon as I took the breathe, I felt the needle go through. I thought he was done, when I felt another push of the needle and I thought "Oh my God, that hurts!!!" and then he was done. He told me to keep my eye closed until he got the jewlery in. He slid the jewlery in, and it felt more sore than anything. He then put on the bottom ball and tighten it really tight. That kindda hurt too. I opened my eyes, looked at my piercing, and then looked up at David and told him that he lied. In my opinion, the navel piercing hurt 10 time worse than the hood piercing, and he told me in the beginning that since I had the hood, this would be nothing. He laughed at me, and told me that the hood is the easiest piercing to get, but the hardest psychologically. He also mentioned that my skin was tighter to get through than most, and he really had to push the needle harder than he had thought he would have to.

It's been several days now since I got the piercing. I've been cleaning it every morning with Provon anti-bacteria soap, and then either using sea salt to soak it with at night or taking a warm bath and just soaking it. After the second day I noticed crusties forming around my navel, so I've been wiping my navel down with anti-bacterial soap accouple times a day. David did mention that one of the most common problems he see with piercings is when people over clean them, and the piercing dries out, so I'm trying to be careful not to do too much to it. When I'm home I just don't wear any pants so I don't irrate it, and when out I either leave the top botton of my pants undone or I wear a dress. So far it looks really good, and I hope it stays that way.

If you have any questions about this piercing, or a hood piercing, please feel free to email me. My hood story is also here on BME.
