Okay to be honest, I am not just another safety pin wielding dumbass. I'm also not someone who has a mommy that "doesn't approve" of modifications. I just like to pierce myself on my own because I like the sense of accomplishment. It also makes me feel more like me. Im not trying to be different, I just try to make myself feel more "right". I don't make it my main goal in life to try to seem rebellious or unique. I really just want to be myself.

One day I was sitting around thinking about getting a new piercing and I was looking around my face too try and figure out where I should put it. I have a left side labret (DIY), paired nostrils (professionally done exactly a year apart), half inch ears (DIY piercing AND stretching) and septum (kind of DIY, it was done by my friend)You can read that story on here too. So I felt around for a while and decided to pierce a Smiley :D. I already had my supplies: clamps, 14g sterile needle, spare 14g captive beaded hoops, a spray bottle of H2Ocean, and rubber gloves. (I ordered the supplies a couple months ago from BME.come :D!!). I think hollow needles are easier to use because you can just thread the jewelry right through and they are REALLY sharp.
Safety pins are very dull and before you have to insert the jewelry you have to pull the needle all the way out! Ive never pierced anyone with a safety pin and I have never pierced myself with one. Ive watched videos on youtube of people doing it and it looks like a lengthy messy process. One time I watched a video of a girl getting her nose pierced (I think I actually saw it on the BMEblog) and they pierced her nostril with a safety pin. It took around ten minutes to get the needle through and then they pulled the needle out and tried to shove the nose stud in. I couldnt change my nose stud for a year because it actually did close up twice, but they are both fine now. :D. I also saw another video of these girls piercing their friends nostril in a BACKYARD outside behind a fence. The girl was crying and screaming the entire time. It was actually pretty funny. Thinking about dumbasses like that make me giggle.
PIERCING: Im not afraid of pain. No EMLA, no ice, no talking myself into it. I went in the bathroom and felt around with the clamps (haha...) for the right spot, checked it in the mirror and then opened the needle package. I tried to shove the needle through but the clamps were getting in the way. I thought it would be easy to just get it right through but apparently that little area of skin stretches ALOT.
So I decided to do it free hand. I found the spot I wanted it in again and started pressing the needle through. Once again, the skin the stretching. I got frustrated and grabbed my top lip with my left hand and pulled it up as far as it would go and shoved the needle through. It didnt go all the way through right away but i eventually got it. I put the captive hoop in the end of the hollow needle and threaded it through and it was done.
The next day at school i was chewing on it and the ball popped off :( and it fell out of my mouth and I couldn't find it.
Then later that afternoon I was eating and it came out! But I just opened a new, smaller sterile ring and put that in and its fine.
I dont like remarks I get from people who are openly rude about their opinions of mody mods. I have never really met someone who likes them. Oh sure I meet alot of people that are like "im so kewl i hav mai lip pierced" and I get shit for things "not looking cute" I dont really care if its cute. Thats not the point. The truth is, it's just what I like. My least favorite question is "why did you do that?" this usually comes from people Im not even talking to! My usual response is just to ignore them, but if theyre persistent i just politely tell them to fuck off. Oh well, their loss. :DD
I don't think self piercing is for everyone. I think it's only for people who really love what they do and understand what they are doing. It's actually quite fun for me. But like I said, if all you have is a safety pin and a stud ear ring....just don't do it.
So thats my story. Bye bye !
