I had been wanting my lip done for quite a while after seeing my sisters. She told me it didn't hurt at all and I was beginning to get desperate. I was first thinking of getting the right side of my lip but then someone mentioned to me that there was more vessels in the side. So I settled for a middle. I asked my mum and she said, like all parents would say when your 13, no. I kept going on about it to my parents until they finally said I could get it done for my fourteenth birthday. It was only a few months away. "Great" I thought.

The day finally came. I was VERY nervous. I was beginning to have second thoughts actually. However, I knew it would be done in a matter of seconds and decided I definitely wanted it. My mum still didn't want me to get it done so she was trying to make me change my mind but I wasn't going to.

My sister drove us into town and got lost on the way to the Studio so I was quite happy as I wanted to stall it for as long as I could. My sisters friend was talking about how much it would hurt but I just thought "oh shut up!" but in my head I was thinking
"Oh no she might be right". My sister found it round a little corner and my mum and I got out of the car and into the studio. The place was totally empty and the Piercer came out from the back. She asked me what I wanted done and I said I wanted my lip done.

She took us to a little room to get my mum to sign some papers. I was actually feeling sick at this point. "Now or never" I thought. She shut her door and closed the blinds and took us to the back room. She talked about what she was going to do. She wiped my face with some find of liquid and drew on a dot under my lip. It was pretty high so I asked if I could have it a little lower and she said "No Problem". She used the liquid again and drew on another dot. She then told me to wash my mouth out with mouth wash. I thought it would taste disgusting but it actually just tasted of mint.

She told me to breath in and she sprayed an icy cold spray on my lip. Then she told me to start breathing normally. She told me to close my eyes and she put on the clamp. I felt a tiny nip and she said it was over. She screwed the ball on the end saying how that was the hardest part of the whole piercing (=. As I walked out the room to the waiting room and saw some people I thought "I've got it done and you haven't!!". Because I knew they would all be totally crapping it.

I got my lip pierced today and so far it has been absolutely fine. All my friends wanted to see it and I just boasted =D. I have to wash my mouth out twice a day now with salt water which will taste icky but theres nothing that can be done because I definitely DO NOT ever want to take my stud out. The piercer put an extra long bar in it as my lip will swell and I've to come back in two weeks and she'll put a smaller one in. I have been smiling all day because I'm so proud of myself for going through with it. I walk past mirrors and windows and can't help but look at my lip and admire it.

If anyone is dithering about whether to get a lip piercing or not, I strongly recommend you do as you will not regret it. Not for a single second. If your from Glasgow then I recommend you go to Glasgow Piercing Studio as the staff are lovely, they make you feel at home and most of all they make a fabulous job of your piercing. I am actually excited if I decide to get anymore piercings. It will DEFINITELY be at Glasgow Piercing Studio. If you get your lip done - don't pick at it, don't play with it and don't move it about a lot in your mouth as the back scratches your teeth. And also be careful when you're eating something because you could bite on the back of the stud and that hurts quite a bit.

If you have any further questions then please email me or add me on instant messenger. Happy piercing! x

P.S.Thanks for people who have posted pictures in of their lip piercings. It has helped me a lot!
