I had decided I wanted my lip pierced when I was about 12 years old, when I saw Chester from Linkin Park had it done. I thought it'd look really good, but obviously my Mum convinced me not to get it done because it'd be "too painful", and that it wouldn't suit me.

Over the years I considered what it would be like to have that piercing. It's not exactly the cleanest place in the world, the mouth. But it looked so right on some people, as if it were part of them.
I went to a horrible high school; they wouldn't even let us wear thin black cardigans under our blazers in an attempt to get warm, so there was no way I'd get away with a lip piercing.
I got to age 16 & managed to convince my Mum that if I got my lobes done, I could get my nipple done. The school couldn't see that, it'd be my own way of rebelling, and something beautiful! Plus I had wanted it for a year or two. So I had my nipple pierced at Holier Than Thou, a studio my friend recommended. They were amazing!
Slowly but surely I escaped that dump & got in to college. Many more piercings came after that [6 to be precise] and I realized that maybe a lip piercing would be a good next one.
I was torn between a vertical nipple piercing or my lip, but I love my nipple one so much I decided I don't want anything to ruin or damage it, so went with a lip piercing.
Then I was torn between a side lip piercing or a center lip piercing. Choices choices! I decided to go with center, because it was the center piercing on Chester that I had fallen in love with.
I went in to Manchester with some friends, one of whom would get her nipple done and the other his lobe, all done in Holier Than Thou. I also decided to dye my hair black with a blue fringe, straight from natural blond! I must look like I'm a fugitive in hiding!
We went straight to Holier, & I was getting quite nervous as usual. my two friends weren't!
Anyway, they're all amazing in Holier, I'd choose that place over anywhere in the rest of England [which is saying something, considering I'm a clean freak!] I bought some "after midnight" hair dye. I think I was actually more exited about dying my hair than my piercing!
I said I had a BME voucher thingy, which took 15% off my new piercing :] I don't feel too bad about it, because I did buy some hair dye.
Kate was to pierce me. I'd had 7 other piercings done there before, but never done by her. She's really nice. She said she gets stressed on Saturdays and accidentally shouts at the customers, haha. I don't blame her to be honest, it must get busy.
I was asking if it would hurt, and she said I was mad to think this would hurt when I'd had my nipple done! Go me :P
She marked the spot, put on the clamps and put the needle through. It didn't hurt much at all. Quite like lobe pain.
Through the jewelry went. Now that is the annoying thing; the stud. Constantly resting on the teeth or gums. I've decided to get a bioblast labret stud when I can, it should be more comfortable. For the first time in all of my piercing experiences [except lobes] I didn't faint/almost faint. Haha. I'm so proud.
I watched my friends get their piercings, while trying to get used to having a piece of metal resting on my teeth.
I tried to eat while waiting for the train, which was a strange experience. I didn't consider the fact that my teeth would move up and down but the piercing wouldn't, therefore it would catch a bit. After that it started to swell a tiny bit, but it wasn't too bad. My two friends said it didn't look like a new piercing; it looked like it had been missing and was now there :]
So I got up a few hours ago, no pain and not much swelling, and I'm more used to the bar now. It's an interesting feeling. My Mum doesn't like my new piercing, but does love my hair, which matters a lot to me :]
All in all, I certainly would recommend this piercing to anyone who wants it. It didn't hurt me very much, and it's easy to clean. Plus it draws attention to your lips, which should work with guys! Haha.
I'll upload a picture when I don't look like I've just fallen backwards out of a tree. :]
