Ok so here we go. I just got my needle in just two weeks before I wanted to do this. I wanted snake bites on my lip to go along with my little lip plate. I got a fourteen gauge needle and went to the bathroom in the dorm. I am a self piercer so I like to learn on my own. I laid out the paper towels and my bar bells. I did not have my clamps with me so I had to do it free hand. It was kind of hard to do. I held my lip down with my gloves on and shot the first needle through I could already tell that it will be swollen already. So I still held it down and put the bar bell in and screwed it tight so it would not fall out of my mouth. I wanted to do the second one but I only had one that was long enough to do the job. I was mad about not doing the other one the same day. So my day went on with one side swollen and the other one not.

I had work the rest of the week and it was pay week for me to that is really good. It means I can get my new bar bell. So I waited for the weekend and went out to my home town shop. I got my bar bell and I waited to get back to the dorm. I went back and I had to find my needle that was some where in my locker. I finally found it and did the same set up again to do it free hand. I held my lip and put the needle through. I was surprised it hardly even bled out of my lip. I was shocked. Normally it does, it did it for my labret in the center. So I was finished after I put the bar bell in. I still used the sea salt on it when I pierced it. I tell everyone if you have no experience in it just get it done at the shop.

It really did not hurt at all when I did it. I used to be afraid to mess up my lip when I did it. But the more I do it I gain more experience when I do it. I learned what to do and what not to do from other people from the BME site. With out them I would not know what to do. I have had my bad times with piercing.

I had one side of the swelling go down and now I have a new side swollen. I looked pretty funny. I do say it took maybe a week to fully heal. I thought it normally took two weeks but I guess my body just heals fast. I cleaned out my mouth on a regular basis. Sea salt or just mouth wash. I did become mad at my snake bites because they did not come out right. I left them there thinking it just might be me. They looked off center with me and no expression and perfect with me smiling. That to me made no sense.

During work I had to hide them from the staff members before they had to take them out. I did take them out for one day I seriously thought they would close but to my surprise they did not. I did not want to change them to anything that will get it infected. So I just kept to the raw steel. I had a friend that had glass in and he got gang green in his lip. That's the last thing I needed for my self.

I really did not want them in at the time because I wanted to do them over again and make them perfect. So I waited a couple of days to think about it before making a bad choice.

So I did think about it and I did take them out. I waited for them to heal before I did anything. I used medication to help with the healing and not leave a big lump of scar tissue. When It was fully healed it did have one but it was very small. I had to rub it with some what hot water to make it go down. I did that until it went away.

I waited about a month and did it again. This time I had my clamps with me that were some where hidden in my room. I put them in my lip and started the procedure. I put the need through and it went in clean. I stuck the bar bells in and screwed them in tight. My lip was not that swollen when I did it with the clamps.
