Those who have body modifications usually don't stop at just one and I'm no different.

I got my first non-gun (yes, I know gun piercings are horrible) piercing at 13 , which was my belly button. It was soon taken out due to the fact that it didn't heal properly. Probably because I had done it myself a few times.
Anyway, my first piercing was done by Dave, as well as the ones to follow: Nose, Eyebrow, Right side of my lip (lip is now retired). (I have my ears pierced several times too, but Dave didn't do those)So why would I go to anyone else when I started to get the itch again? Not to mention I was the first to post an experience here on BME about him (my nose)! He's just amazing! :D
I considered a Vertical Labret, and then a labret. I researched it all, got hyped about each one, got into the car to go to Daves' and decided on a Monroe/Madonna! (I call it a monroe..but some don't..so..yeah.)
I wasn't really sure what to expect, so yes, I was nervous. But who wouldn't be? No matter how many times you get a needle shoved through your flesh, I don't think it will be any less nerve wracking. Although, I had never had any real pain with any of my other piercings.. so I wasn't expecting much.
So on to the actual experience.. I got there around 4pm and he wasn't there. Some other girls where waiting for different things. So my mom, little sister, and me decided to sit down on the pretty white lawn chairs and just..well..wait.
He got there, and he did whatever he had to do with the other girls, mom filled out the paper work.. the usual...and then...it was my turn!
I went back by myself (this was a first, usually mom and my sister are stuck up my butt) and got up on the comfy-brown doctor looking chair.
He cleaned everything up and got everything ready. He cleaned my lip, and marked it, asked me if I liked it, I said yes, but then he showed me a picture of someone else he did, and he decided to move it.
Somewhere in all that - he managed to double glove because he didn't want ink on the first pair, and I laughed. He told me he wasn't double gloving cause i was dangerous. But I told him I was, cause I bite. =]
He had everything sitting out, ready and then got a BIGGER needle.. "Uh, why do you need a bigger needle?" I wondered..He said it was a "tapered" needle - I think that's what it was called at least. I had no idea what he was talking about, so he kindly explained it to me. How it would go inside the actual piercing needle, and then the jewelry would go on the end and he would "thread" it through. Because if he lost "contact" with the hole, he would have to go.. "fishing". That is bad. So he can't do that... I wouldn't let him. haha. ;)
He put the clamps on, checked to make sure it was right, held the cork at the bottom of my lip, told me to "breath in" and then to "breath out" ... of course I know what happens when you breath out. He shoves a needle in.
No matter how many piercings a person gets that doesn't hurt..this one HURT.. a LOT. My eyes actually watered - which has NEVER happened before. I even squeaked a little. haha..
He told me the needle was out, that was a big relief. But not all was done - he still had to finish putting the jewelry in. He did just that and I tasted a bit of blood. He got a tissue and cleaned it, then asked me to hold onto it and apply a bit of pressure. So I did as the professional said, of course. =] I'm such a good little girl.
He cleaned it up and all was good. I looked at it, and LOVED it. He said he thought it was good too. ;)
He checked on my eyebrow, and was going to change the bar to a shorter one, but he couldn't find them. (Bummer!)
He went over aftercare for the monroe, I paid, said thank you and left.
.mom swears up and down that I can't have anymore piercings. But last I remembered - she said that EVERY time. =] Gotta love mothers.
All in all, its a good piercing. It is 6 hours later and it's not really hurting at all. I even ate and drank earlier. I have no problem talking. I've actually forgot it was there a time or two.
Oh and if your in the Madison area, go to Dave. He's the best. =]
