For the longest time I've wanted to get my cheeks pierced. I love how they look on people and I've always wanted dimples!

One day a couple of my friends and I ditched school to get something to eat. On our way back, we met this guy that was handing out business cards for his piercing studio. He asked us if we wanted to get any piercings and of course we said yes. So he gave each of us one of his cards and told us to call him to set up an appointment. After that, I was extremely excited because I knew that soon I was going to get my cheeks pierced.

A couple days later, my friend called to get the prices. He said he would do my piercings for $40! I was surprised. I was sure it was going to cost way more than that. So, that night, I went home and got my piggy bank and realized that I only had $20 saved up. So I was thinking..."Should I just get one, or wait until I have the rest of the money". Since I had wanted to get them done for so long I decided that I would get one and then when I get another 20 dollars I would go back and get the other one done.

About a week had gone by and my friend and I were tired of waiting so we called and made and appointment for the next day. Since it was a school day, we asked him if he could pick us up before school and then bring us back when we were all finished. He said yes and it was set!

That night I had major trouble sleeping (because I was so excited) and I had a crazy dream about what was going to happen.

The next morning I woke up early and had my mom drop me off at school before she went to work. I called my friend and he told me that the guy was going to meet us at Vons so I left school and went to wait at Vons. It felt like it took forever but finally the guy showed up. But my friend was nowhere to be found. We went back to the school to find my friend and then we were off to get pierced!

We got to the guy's studio and sat down to wait for him to set everything up. I was far too nervous to go first so my friend (who was getting his tongue pierced) went first. Next up was my turn! I was so happy that I was finally going to get my cheeks pierced.

The guy told me that if I could get my friend to give me 5 dollars he would do the other cheek. He thought it would look really weird to just have one. So I asked and my friend gave me $5. So I sat down and the guy marked my cheeks. It took forever for him to get it perfect and I had a really hard time not laughing.

When he finally finished marking my cheeks, I went to look in the mirror. They were PERFECT! So then I sat back down and I was ready to be pierced.

He put the clamps on (which were extremely cold!), counted to three and stuck the needle through. I didn't even feel the first one. I was actually laughing! He put the jewelry in with no problem and clamped my other cheek. This time he didn't count and it scared me a little when he stuck the needle through. He took the needle out too soon and lost the hole. I was so pissed because he had to re-pierce it. The second time it hurt a little. Probably only because he had to do it again. I must say they hurt a lot less then getting your ears pierced. He put the jewelry in, gave me some mouth wash to rinse the inside of the piercing, and then I looked in the mirror. I absolutely loved them!

While I was waiting for him to take us back to school he had me suck on ice so that my cheeks wouldn't swell up right away. After he dropped us off, we went to the dollar store and bought some mouth wash and little baby bottles so we could rinse our mouth out during school. Everyone that I talked to that day, and still, say that they love my piercings.

A few days after, my cheeks got really swollen and I had some major problems with the jewelry being too short. The ball went inside of my cheek while I was sleeping and when I got it out I couldn't unscrew the ball to take it out. I called the guy that did my piercing and he came to my house to give me some longer labret studs. He had to use pliers to cut the other jewelry off because he some how screwed the ball on too tight.

Then, my cheeks got even more swollen! I have chubby cheeks to begin with so I had to put tongue barbells in them. I was so close to just saying never mind and letting the holes close.

It took a couple of weeks and some ibuprofen for the swelling to completely go down but now, about three months later, they are completely healed and I love them so much! I can finally wear the original labret studs and when I take the jewelry out I have permanent dimples!

I would definitely recommend cheek piercings to anyone who wants them. But be prepared for major staring and stupid questions from random people!
