I had wanted a side lip piercing for years, but my parents wouldn't let me have anything pierced. When I took my friend to get his labret done it made me want my lip done even more, but still my parents weren't going to let me get it done. A year a so later my family basically fell apart my mother abandoned me and my step dad and my step dad could no longer afford for me to live with him.

So I had to find a home, with no relatives living in the same state let alone city it was a hard task. Being to young and poor to rent a place I moved in with my Girlfriend who was living with me at my step dads for a few months prior. Any way life moved on and with no parents to stop me getting my lip done I wanted it more, I kept going into the studio and talking to the piercers and keep searching bme for pictures and stories. Until one night when I was talking about it my girlfriend said to me 'I'm sick of you complaining about it your getting it done tomorrow and I'm paying for it'.

The next morning came and we got into the city early before the shops had opened and went and got had a cup of coffee across the road from the studio waiting for it to open it. When it finally did we were the first in the doors and I went straight to the counter and asked to get it done Damien (one of the piercers) said that he would do it in 10 minutes and told me to go get a drink. I came back in 10 minutes and he said that he was sorry but he had another booking and there wasn't a free space till about 2 hours later.

So we did some shopping and came back filled out the forms and went into the studio with Lee to get it done. We talked about the piercing and all while he got his gear set up and he explained everything (as this was my first piercing) he marked a spot and asked me to check it, it was perfect. Lee wanted me to check the placement a heap of times even though I was perfectly happy with it, he then clamped my lip and asked if I wanted to know when he was going to do it I said no. The next thing I knew I had a large needle in my mouth and Lee was trying to put the CBR in, which hurt more than the needle surprisingly but still a very mild pain. Lee and I Joked for a while about the pain, whilst he was cleaning up everything. After he finished he gave me a drink of water to wash my mouth out with.

After all was done I got a bit light headed and went and had a sit down on the couch they had outside the studio, Lee told me that it was usual to feel like this since I hadn't eaten yet he then told my girlfriend to get me a soft drink to ease my head. While she was gone Damien came over to see how I was going and to talk about the piercing before he went to set up for his next piercing. My Girlfriend came back with a drink after a few sips I felt much better so we paid got all the aftercare forms and left. I was so proud that after years of waiting I had finally got my lip pierced I wanted to show it off to everyone.

The healing was no problem I was told to wash it twice daily with a salt water solution which healed it nicely the only problem was my lips cracked due to the salt water drying my lips out. But that only lasted while my lip was swollen (about 3 days). Eating was difficult for the first night and after that only caused slight pain for a day or two. I have since had a labret stud fitted (so I could take it out for work) and a smaller seamless ring (14ga 10mm as opposed to the original 14ga 12mm CBR) and both fit nicely without discomfort although when I had Damien change to the labret stud it took a while for him to find the right size stud for my lip and my piercing started to shrink so he had to force it in which hurt a fair bit although no more discomfort than the original piercing.

If you live in Adelaide I suggest you go to Punktured body piercing on Hindley Street as they are the best in town. Lee, Damien and all the other piercers there are of the highest standard and are all very friendly.
